  1. although, i'm going to have to put the interim payment in now though. simply because i cannot afford to use public transport anymore. i feel like i've been forced into accepting this through their incompetence. I will still pursue the extra 10% and definitely a refund on 2 months worth of insurance payment.
  2. Hastings direct, I'm finding, are a terrible terrible company. A company who refuse to communicate with the policy holder unless pushed and pushed and pushed. They fail to pass on information, that I have to repeat it to different call centre operatives everytime I ring. The premise is this : I had an car accident on the 15th November, and am still waiting for a payout from them so I can purchase a new car (i currently have no car, and am having to use public transport that takes twice as long and always gets me to work late as i live in a rural location). I accepted liability on no less than three seperate occasions, I've been on hold to them a grand total of 235 minutes, i've been cut off, mid-hold, 5 times. I've asked people countless times to ring me back with what was happening with my claim, no-one ever has. I've received a non-acceptable payment cheque the middle of this week, despite me dragging a valuation out of them on the 20th decemember, and then informing them that i was looking for something more. Three times between then and today they've told me they've put it in for revaluation, but everytime i've rung to find out the status, i'm told that it hasn't been put in, and there was no record to say it should. I'm not being greedy in the slightest, i just know that in order to get a similar car with mileage, and new cambelt, etc. i'm going to need 10% more. Even today the guy said he would get the Manager (Alison?) or the File handler(Kara?) to call me back today, neither have. I'm absolutely disgusted with this company. nearly 2 months without a car, and I was only allowed a courtesy car for 1 day while they carried out a check of the car. As soon as it was classed as a write off, they wanted the car back. which strikes me as crazy. Having your car repaired? come on in sir, here have this car for the duration. Car written off? left out in the cold with no transport at all. when I had a similar accident many years ago, Direct Line had me sorted within 3 weeks. a courtesy car was provided till i recieved my payout. no problems. Hastings? endless, tiring, slow, problems. to me, a company who couldn't care less. I have no idea who to complain to. no point in writing to them, i have no faith that my letter would even be read. any point in writing to the FSA? does anybody else here have a name and address to complain/write to? thanks Colin
