  3. YAY!! received an offer from halliax of 50% of my claim and just negotiated full amount less interest!! will be in bank in 14 days ooh!! i didn't have to file at court - i was going to but had to find £140 first which i didn't have. so £4039 richer yay!! this is gonna be the longest 14 days of my life! sj
  4. thanks tilly i had a bit of a "wobble" a while back wondering if i was brave enough to carry on with it all but your win and thoughts of holidays has spurred me on again! sj
  5. today i received the standard - we think the charges are fair letter. i phoned Halifax and spoke to a lovely man who sent my claim back for re-evaluation. he said i should receive an offer anytime between 2 days and 3 weeks. i can't afford to go through the court system just yet so i have no choice but to be patient. here's hoping sj
  6. Hi Tilly i have been following your story since it began - then i go to bed with flu for a couple of days and look what happens! fantastic news i'm so thrilled for you enjoy your holiday sj
  7. Hi There i'm also in northern ireland, claiming £4900.00 from Halifax. i will also have to use a civil bill. if you go to Penalty Charges Forum - Powered by vBulletin and go to the northern ireland section, under mainland charges you will see stuff about the civil bill. somebody called nipixels has already done it and is really helpful. good luck sj
  8. i'm really sorry cank luckily you'll get lots of help and support on this site to decide what to do next. sj
  9. hi Daisygirl just wanted to say good luck - don't worry about the fact you work in a bank - that's an asset for us as far as i'm concerned! sj
  10. just received my second 4 week wait letter from the halifax! you gotta laugh. my civil bill is due to go in this friday - but have no money so it will have to wait unless i can get fee exemption. i'm gonna check that out today. sj
  11. thanks sea-sidelady i will remember to be more clear and write northern ireland not ni in future! - sorry for the confusion. i am claiming in northern ireland which is why i'm panicing slightly sj
  12. quick question! i opened a halifax current a/c 12 years ago but they changed it to a card cash account some years later without consulting me. are the t and cs i need for a current a/c because that's what i signed up to? they say there's no o/draft facility on a card cash a/c but they moved that over too! sj
  13. thanks mackem67 for the link - i wasn't sure how to do it! sj
  14. Hi Tilly this seems to only apply to banks in northern ireland - according to penaltychargesforum. it seems that judges have decided to postpone until a test case in england is heard - a couple of people are saying they have had their hearings postponed. sj
  15. Hi Tilly49 go to penaltychargesforum.co.uk then to the ni section, mainland banks and read the post that starts ni bank claims - what do you make of it? sj
