Yes, I have paid but it is still registered as unpaid with Quick Quid

Hi, one year ago I had a loan with Quick Quid. Unfortunately I was not able to pay it on time and MacKenzie Hall bought the debt. I paid them straight away, but I still received emails from Quick Quid regarding my outstanding balance. I paid off my debt ages ago, but I am still registered with an outstanding balance with Quick Quid. I have asked them to update their records, but Quick Quid has told me that MacKenzie Hall needs to contact them. MacKenzie Hall on their side state that they are not obliged to contact Quick Quid and that Quick Quid should have updated their records when they sold my debt to MacKenzie Hall.... My debt is paid off but I am still registered owing money to Quick Quid. Surely that most be illegal?
