  1. Well, my appeal was rejected The passenger holding a BB didn't make any difference, although I tried looking it up and found somewhere that BB holders can enter prohibited zones, but I might have gotten that wrong. Being German some rules/laws are not easy to understand even if I have driven in this country for 21 years. As there is no way I can afford to pay £120 after x-mas I decided to pay it now. I doubt any further appeals will get me any joy. Not much else I can do TLC
  2. Heh, spoke to soon lol Got my final notice today, and they want £90 It's from Parking Collection Services Limited, their client being UKPC They even sent a pretty picture of my van TLC
  3. I'm going to ignore any letter although I had written to them first. Leyton retail park consists of Asda, TKmaxx, currys, sportsdirect.com, B&Q, with KFC, burgerking and pizzahut. UKPC put a 2 hour limit on the parking lot... So you better choose which place to visit each day LOL I'm not gonna care any more and will only pay parking fines that are legit, and not just silly invoices from greedy idiots. Will keep you all updated on the amount of letters I get (am actually looking forward to them now *giggle* ) Kind regards TLC
  4. I'm actually thinking of printing the URL for here on A4 in business card format, laminate them, and stick it under any invoices I see on ppl's cars. It'll be well worth it TLC
  5. OMG, thank you, all of you I got one of those invoices, wrote to them asking for some compassion for my disabled passenger who was desperate to go toilet and there was nowhere to park and I parked in a hatched area displaying the BB, I was NOT obstructing anyone or anything. My passenger uses a walking frame and needs someone with her constantly, disabled spaces were all used, so I dropped her off by the Asda entrance and went to find somewhere to park and hurry back to help her. This is the reply I got from them : ========== Dear Madam Thank you for your recent correspondence in relation to the above Parking Charge Notice (PCN). We understand your frustration and appreciate the inconvenience this may have cause you. It is not our intention to cause undue worry and frustration when enforcing out clients parking regulations. We have investigated the appeal based on the information submitted by yourself and can confirm in this instance that the PCN was issued correctly for the following reasons. There is no parking in the unauthorised areas at the Leyton Mill Retail Park, this includes the parking on the hatched areas. There are sufficient signs warning vehicles owners/drivers that should they park their vehicle in the unauthorised areas, this will result in a PCN being issued by post. On the PCN issue date our records confirmed that you were the registered keeper/owner/driver of the vehicle involved in the contravention. Your PCN has been on hold whilst on appeal and may be settled in full at the reduced rate of £45.00 provided payment is received at the below address within 14 days of the date of this letter. ======== I ALWAYS pay my parking fines if I am actually illegally parked (had 2 in my 21 year stay in the UK). So I was going to pay this one, well, my son was as an x-mas present for me. Luckily there was no phone number for payments and I went to google and searched UKPC. This site came up, and I'm ever so grateful for it. I'd rather give the £45 to this site, which I think I might just do when my finances are a bit better, than pay this cowboy outfit. Also I will tell everyone I know about the practice of these so-called parking control people. Thank you all ever so much !!!!! TLC
  6. Go the the bbc website, and look for watchdog, then there is a tab for 'yourstory' I can't post links in here because my post count is too low. Hope you can find it and add your story to it Good luck I'm hoping a lot more people will write to them about this and they will start an investigation *hugs* Pet
  7. If everyone would go to watchdog they might investigate it ... I e-mailed them last night. Fingers crossed they don't just ignore it now *hugs* Pet
  8. I'm thinking of going to Watchdog with this. They seem to be dealing with motorists issues atm *hugs* Pet
  9. Hi KM I'm gonna go all the way with this one, it is such a ridiculous set up of traffic signs it makes you laugh (or should) I have got a picture that is from google that shows exactly what that 'crossing' was like when google maps was around which made perfect sense to any driver at the time. Since then some smart-a*se decided to change the lay-out and get Barking council a fortune in traffic violations .... YAY, lets hammer the driver AGAIN, and some will just pay up so it's an easy way to get revenue *hooraah* Regards Petra
  10. Everyone I showed the pic to agreed that the signs are really confusing, although I bet they will just say that as a driver I'm supposed to pay attention to ALL signs displayed. Good luck trying that at 30mph. The entrance for Vicarage Field isn't sign posted either, so looking for that you're bound to miss some of the other signs and drive on assuming it's a bit further down. What about if you have a disabled badge ? Can you go down those roads then ? The rules for blue badges confuse me... regards Petra
  11. Hello all Guess who just got the same PCN ... Tomorrow I'll be on my way to Barking to take some pics. After reading the comments on here I decided to contest the charge as well. Haven't got much time left as the letter took 5 days to get to me, from Barking to Hackney .... Hope you all get it sorted and don't have to pay. Fingers crossed Petra
