Due to poor health and being medically unable to work for the last 18 months I fell severely behind on two debts, one a loan and one a credit card. Together they at that time came to just over £15k but I didn't want an IVA, I borrowed the money and want to pay it all back. I didn't go through debt management but made arrangements direct with the lender, have managed to clear the loan but still owe close to 9k on the credit card. I have been successfully treated for my medicl condition and am able to work, but the gap on my employment history is now hindering my efforts and I am trying so very hard. How long will a credit card company be patient? They have been superb until now by freezing the interest and allowing me to make nominal payments, but now I am able to work I am panicing that their patience will run out.
