  1. Yes. Don't worry. I've followed the advice on the forum and the only issues or follow up questions I had was how many pieces of scrap paper were going to be posted through the letterbox. I think you get a FINAL warning, then a FINAL FINAL warning that you must not ignore on pain of death.
  2. I've just recieved a FINAL WARNING letter from Graham White stating that the matter will be referred (to where?) in seven days. Will this be the last of the letters?
  3. It's slightly annoying and really the site should render the same for the main broswers.
  4. The forums indexes now seem to be centered instead being left aligned. I'm using IE8 on XPSP3. It's fine in Mozilla.
  5. Edited: Missed the part about the hire car. I've seen a few posts regarding this before where a couple of things are mentioned. One was to contact the hire company and tell them not to pay any "fine" on your behalf. Two, instruct them NOT to pass on your personal details to a 3rd party company (the PPC).
  6. You have already done more that enough. You have told them that you were not the driver, just the registered keeper. As you said, it's unfortunate that you wasted time doing this but for peace of mind you have done nothing to harm anything.
  7. Just read the two posts above yours. You will get some scrap paper sent to you. Don't contact them and don't worry about it.
  8. You could ask to speak to the manager of the branch with your complaint and then tell them you are not going to be a customer there any more.
  9. Good stuff. I noticed that in my local Morrisons they have ticket machines covered up. I did wonder why they have them at all because if they did start charging i'm betting there would be a flock of custom to the ASDA next door.
  10. Upload them to a free image host instead of using the forum attachment feature. ImageShack etc. or even Google Picasa if you have a gmail account http://www.google.co.uk/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=&q=free+image+shot&aq=f&oq=#sclient=psy&hl=en&safe=off&q=free+image+host&aq=f&aqi=g4g-o1&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=9dae9b5f37450db6
  11. PPCs come up with lots of different terms, usually replacing Penalty with Parking. Town & City use Civil Penalty Charge Notice on their signs which may (or should) be illegal. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=21871&d=1284693649
  12. Another user was having legal threats to have an article on their blog removed. They are contesting it but in the meantime copied the articled to a US hosted blog.
  13. An update on my situation. I haven't heard anything for 2 months and today got a letter from Roxburghe through the post. No letters from LDK about paying the reduced fine or a final notice before being transferred to Debt Collectors etc. I wonder if they are now just skipping the middle section and going straight to them Also that it has a random amout payable (£148.75) with no idication how it adds up. I have no intention of paying but it was a surprise.
  14. Ignore. The appeal is as much as a sham as the parking [problem]. It doesn't matter what sob story you tell them. It could be one sentence or an essay but they will just write back with appeal denied and telling you to pay.
  15. You've got to think that any one with any sense would use a different name
  16. Btw, what was the title/content of the recent Watchdog segment about parking fines? (not the paper aeroplanes from a few months back) Is it online?
  17. Btw, what was the title/content of the recent Watchdog segment about parking fines? (not the paper aeroplanes from a few months back) Is it online?
  18. It's a nice email to Watchdog. I do hope they read it but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Great that you have posted it here though where people can read it and take the advice.
  19. In some instances the PPC and debt recovery agents are the same company. They don't even bother to cover up this blatantly obvious identifier in their [problem] as they hope (correctly) that most will be scared either by the initial "fine" or moreso by the threat of debt recovery agents.
