As suggested by johnym, I contacted Toshiba. They were very helpful and have offered to fix the TV at no charge (they think it just needs a software update).

I bought a 37" Toshiba LCD TV 31 months ago from Comet. The TV stopped working correctly yesterday.
Is there any point trying to get Comet to repair the TV under the SoG Act or is it too old?
