  1. I have had a result .... Thanks to the very nice couple of people I spoke to ..... the have got rid of the debt and are sorting out my meter whoop whoop result for the little guy (or woman as the case may be ) lol
  2. I am a widow with 2 children and only get a widows pension I therefore have a pre-payment meter from Scottish Power to ensure that I can budget my money (what little there is) and ensure I do not get into debt. I put £15 per week on my key which just about covers us for a week. Today I received a letter from SP saying I had a debt on my account of £336. Obviously I called them straight away, not understanding how this could be possible, surely it wasn't!! They said my meter was set incorrectly and I can pay £11.35 pw until Dec and the debt will be paid. I simply cannot afford that. I have sent a complaint to their complaints dept and waiting to hear back but until it is sorted I am lumbered with this debt Has anyone else come across this and surely I shouldn't have to pay for their mistake and can i switch suppliers
  3. Thank you well I have 29days left to get this sorted. I am on a mission now thanks to all your help and support. I have no idea what the £300 charges are for so I am def gonna get a breakdown before he gets any money out of me lol. Also I think I may have got the 'NICE' person at the court and may be able to just pay it off after I told her my circs. We shall see!!!!
  4. Thank you so much for your help. I don't have a breakdown of the fees. I asked but he just said when you've paid you can have the paperwork. I think I will try the second option for now. I can pay what is left on the fine on Monday so I'm hoping, due to circumstances, they will listen to me and accept my money. If anyone else can help on the your knowledge is greatly accepted
  5. I am still on benefits due to illness. My partner is also on benefits. (we're not spongers it's just the circs atm) I have not heard anything from this company until today. He refused to accept installments which would only take at most a couple of months and there isn't really anything worth anything that belongs to me in the house. I'm so scared or what may happen. I could go more in depth about how I got into the position I am in but you'd prob be here for a week reading it BTW thank you for your interest
  6. Hi I'm new here and have already read a lot of useful info but I need specific advice for my situation. At 7 am a Marstons bailiff turned up on my doorstep and demanded £410 for an outstanding Driving fine of which £110 was remaining. Some time ago I had to go onto benefits due to illness. I contacted the court and asked for a standing order form to enable me to pay the fine off weekly. I never received the form and I must admit I forgot about it. That was 2 years ago. I tried to explain the situation to the bailiff and he just said to me 'Everyone has a story. Pay the money now or I take your belonging' I was shocked that he could just come in without any warning and take belongings in my house. I understand the fine is mine and I am not diputing that it needs paying and I am happy to make sure it is paid but I only get £170 per week for me and 2 children. I managed to get him to give me a month to pay but I am at my wits end. Even with a month I don't know what to do. My son own most of the items in my house but I don't know how to prove it! Please help me sorry to go on but I needed to explain fully Ps I just remembered - I asked for a copy of the paperwork and he said when you pay you can have the paperwork, surely this can't be right
