  1. dx and Gordies, thanks for your replies. I did as you suggested and got this from them earlier today Thank you for your further correspondence. Your handset has been found to be physically damaged by the engineer at the Express Repair Centre. Such damage is not covered under Blackberry warranty, therefore will not be repaired or replaced free of charge by the Carphone Warehouse. You are more than welcome to a second opinion from ourselves by having your handset sent away to our central repairs centre, or, if you prefer an independent evaluation of your handset, you may contact Blackberry directly. We are unable to offer any further assistance if you do not wish to proceed with a second opinion or a chargeable repair. Would appreciate further guidance in how to either get an evaluation through BB and/or go straight to small claims court.
  2. Was wondering if anyone has had a similar experince and/or can advise what to do next. Whilst unplugging the BB from the charger, the charging/USB port came out too. Having visisted their store and contacted their "customer" services, i was told that the detachment of the charging port will not be covered under the warranty as it is classified as accidental damage. I don't see how that can be as I only did what I have been doing for years. i said. I just unplugged the phone from the charger. Due to weakened soldering, the port came out with it. How is that accidental damage? I asked. I am now in dispute with them and warned them that unless this is sorted out free of charge, within 7 days, I shall be seeking compensation for the quoted £169 repair and loss of use through the small claims court. They replied as follows I am sorry to hear that your handset has been found to be physically damaged by our team of Engineers. Our Engineers work to a high standard and comply with guidelines set by the manufacturer. Blackberry state that if the charging port is damaged the repair will be chargeable as it is not covered by their warranty, which has also been confirmed with the Blackberry Repairs Manager at our central repairs centre. The current charge for Blackberry repairs is £169.99 if you wish to have the handset repaired. As the warranty has been voided, the handset will not be repaired free of charge by Carphone Warehouse. I appreciate this may not be the answer you were looking for however it complies with The Carphone Warehouse repairs policies and procedures and the manufacturer's warranty. Earlier today i asked them to provide whatever documents in relation to their statement " complies with The Carphone Warehouse repairs policies and procedures and the manufacturer's warranty". In particular, the list of specific items that fall under the warranty. Ialso mentioned that the phone does have another fault, the M button is not "clicking" and tends to get stuck. A fault that, according to one of their staff, would require a handset replacement. However, as the charging/USB port is not covered, this cannot proceed. I have to pay to get that fixed AND then the handset will be replaced. No reply as yet.
  3. I have just received a PCN for the same location. Should there be any signs warning of CCTV recording? How accurate does the PCN have to be? In vehicle make, it states Unknown.
