  1. Hi 2 years ago my daughter and her husband bought an ground floor flat from a property developer, he provided the relevant utility bills to show that there had been two flats and that he did not need any planning permission for any conversion. Sale went through ok, they have paid mortgate and council tax on a regular basis.upstairs flat is let and both parties have been paying council tax. now they have been informed by the council that the Utility bills provided by the developer were fraudulent and the property must be returned to a single dwelling. the position they are now in is they are living in a property that they cannot sell, they are continuing to pay mortgage and council tax and are awaiting an eviction order, the mortgage provider is not going to help, the local MP is unable or unwilling to help, they have sought legal advice, they just are not able to afford the fees to see this through, what can they do
