  1. I applied online about 18 months to 2 years ago. They give me a credit limit of £500 straight off. I have often thought that I'll pay off £100 to bring the balance down but guess what, next statment comes and I am upto or over my limit again. These are supposed to help people with bad credit get a credit history but it just destroys it more. I did need the card at the time of getting it for a car repair. Wish I hadn't now though
  2. I have an account with Vanquis also. Current balance is just over £500. It was only £430 then suddenly went over my limit by £23. The charges and interest is terrible. I have just paid them a requested £55 to bring my account upto date but they keep pestering me. Quite literally 20 phone calls a day, every 20 mins. I have been in work and work 12 hour shifts and as I said, 20 phone calls doesn't go down well. Is it just me or are they like this with everyone?
  3. If the insurance company has paid out and it is 6 months down the line, Doesn't this sort of make it a CAT D write off and the legal ownership of the vehicle lies with the current registered keeper. If the Police have took it, it is purely to " preserve evdience" so that in the instance that something is a miss, then the car cannot go missing again. I think you will probably get it back, might take some time but I think you will. As said in previous replies, Get in touch with you insurance company for the legal assistance that you pay for with your premium and get them to help deal with it. Keep on it though, simply because if you leave it, it will probably be put to the bottom of the pile.
  4. Thanks again for the replies. Just to update all of what has gone on so far. I dropped the car off on Friday to one of the finance companies designated drop-off points and did keep the tax disk. The car was left in the Car Dealers compound to await collection. I have received a phone call today from the agent informing me that they are going to collect the vehicle. I'll have to see what happens from here.
  5. Thankyou for the replies. I am going to keep hold of it as I said, I am dropping the vehicle off. Something that is on my mind is that I could leave the disk on and the agent marks it as untaxed and claims it themselves. They are claiming that I owe £130 even though I am 36 months into a 61 month agreement. When asked, they said that it was unpaid GAP insurance because I no longer need it. They also said I am in arrears and charges are incurred. I font understand how this happened as I have paid by direct debit from day one and never missed a payment.
  6. Hi... I'm new to this. I'm about to hand my car back ( tomorrow). I am taking the car up to one of their drop off points and on the pack it reads that they require a valid tax disc. Does this have to remain with the vehicle as my intention is to get my refund for this. I have only got the Road fund license at the beginning of this month and I am not prepared to give them that as well as other fees they want. Can anyone help?
