  1. Basically the bed was arching only on my side because it was the only side used, the mattress shows that when it was taken off & whilst it was on bed, pulling my back-as my back only hurt on the right hand side which is the side I sleep on. Originally, I had a memeory foam layer mattress, then I had a deluxe spring mattress. The bed was a wrought iron effect bed, basically the supporting legs were slipping on my wooden flooring & became weaker & gave completely. This was noted by another customer review who advised other argos purchasers to by non-slip castors for feet. (Argos did not) so I did but it made no difference with 2nd bed, the same thing happened. I feel basically that the bed should not be advertised on a wooden flooring which it is as the legs slip & break eventually. Checking other bed companies like dreams theirs are advertised on carpet. Never had a back problem before, I am now going into my 5th month of suffering. Had mri-got to see dr friday with results. All of above have copies of to prove it isn't just me who have had problems. I have never sued anyone for anything & believe everything can't be perfect, but due to sustaining an injury that is ongoing & may effect me for the rest of my life, I feel Argos could of at least offered a refund & a free bed. I have worked all my life, never claimed a day of benefit & I'm now in my 30's. Been to uni, got a good job, which at present I can't do due to medication I'm taking. I'm restricted in day to day activities. All I want to do is get back to work & lead a normal life again. Thank you for responding.
  2. Thank you for your response. It was the supporting legs both times. Both times partner could not remove screw from one leg as it was that bent. Have kept other 3 screws that are also bent. I asked argos for refund after 2nd bed collasping & they would not give me one. The other thing is I also asked not to be sent same bed so chose dearer bed with a slightly cheaper mattress & the frame was the same just the head & foot board were different. But as I read someone else's review about putting non-slip castors (which argos do not recommend) which I did I thought it would work. Can send photos but not too good on uploading stuff. I have an A level in Law so understand bits & bobs. Wasn't even thinking about taking action until a friend suggested it due to back injury being worse than I first thought & it is the only thing that has changed. On the photos you can see that the bed is down on one side & the mattress is bent (bought with the bed). I have now requested my GP records & I am going to see about taking Argos to court myself.
  3. I wondered if anyone could help me. I purchased a wrought iron bed from Argos last October & the supporting leg collapsed whilst I was in the bed. Just before this occurred I began having problems with my back, which I have never had before. Argos supplied new bed & admitted bed was faulty on an e-mail. 2nd bed supplied supporting leg has also collapsed, today I am receiving a replacement. I only weigh 9st 10lb & it is a kingsize bed. My partner had back surgery last year & we haven't been able to sleep together until recently due to him not being able to lie on his side (too painful) & his snoring is awful. (numerous people could & would verify this) Thank goodness he wasn't in the bed as I couldn't imagine what the state of his back would be!!! I have been off work since January of this year on strong painkillers & muscle relaxants, due to still being in pain & having a relapse as the bed collapsed again I cannot return to work. I have took photos of 2nd bed & am keeping screws that were removed from this beds supporting legs as they are bent, one screw couldn't be removed as it was that bent!! I have tried a no win no fee solicitor but they would not take up my case, they stated they thought I had a case but they would not pursue it & would like some advice with where to go now. I have rang GP's this morning for a copy of my records. I have never been in this situation before & have never had back problems before, do not do sport, no heavy lifting, etc. Please, please someone help me as I feel Argos should compensate me. Luckily I get majority of my pay for first 6 months of being off, but they have not even offered to refund the cost of the bed! I had to pay a further £30.01 to obtain a different bed. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
