  1. Kia Ora & Hello to all forum users, I am new to the forum and am looking for some help/advice on how to deal with my Student Loan problems. I think the best way to describe my problem is to let you read the letter I am drafting to send to the Thesis Servicing company. Dear Gary Burns Before leaving to New Zealand (from Scotland) in 2006 all my student loans were owned by the 'Student Loan Company', I deferred all my loans and provided them with my new address, which still has not changed in 3.5 years. Now I believe that some time in 2008 the 'Thesis' company somehow without my consent or prior knowledge unfairly purchased some of my loans? Correct? And at this time for some reason there was a miscommunication between the two companies of my address. And more recently after a couple of phone calls from your company were informed that a trace had been put out on me and some other company had to track me down for you (I am not paying any money for your mistakes). And during all this time you guys have been racking up thousands of pounds of debt against me (now over 2000 pounds) in what I believe to be very unfair fines. Fines that I have no idea of what these charges are, how and when they have accumulated and these fines are now greater than the student loans that you own! Not once have I received any notification that these fines were being charged. And even to this day I still do not fully understand what is going on with my loans, how many do you own? Do student loans still own the other accounts? And most recently when I sent my deferment back to the UK did all the loans I listed get deferred or only the one you own? And also I have been contacted by a company called 'Newmans'(dated 24th Feb 2010), they said that they were now after me for money on your behalf, I paid them 50 pounds (18/03/10) in good faith until I could find out what was going on (total debt to them 632.3 pounds). After that payment I received a phone call from your company again, and when explaining I had made a payment to 'Newmans' was informed by your staff that no account had been sent to them and not to pay them any money and to put this all in writing and send this to you. I am not trying to avoid paying my Student loans back, but am not willing to pay your fines. Due to loosing paper work years ago when I moved here and the confusion of the 2 companies owning my loans could you confirm the loans you own and what loans the 'Student Loan Company' still own. And please provide a detailed account of every fine charged, its value , date accumulated and reasons. Thanks for your time and understanding Yours Sincerely Steven Sim Hope this makes sence, still trying to decide exactly what to write. Any advice would be appreciated Thanks Steve
