  1. Hi. I`m hoping someone can at least point me in the right direction. My Ex acquired our daughter an Acer Extensa 5235 laptop from Comet under the Home Access scheme a few weeks back. She unfortunately assumed that Comet would provide a similar choice of packages as she`d seen offered elsewhere. Being excited the prospect of her new computer mum & daughter just accepted the above machine rather than come home and order Online. 12 days later i was there visiting and my daughter asked to show me something she`s recently done on the laptop but upon opening the lid the glass screen inside seemed to crack....did crack. It actually looks like someone has shot the thing although you cant actually feel the damage on the face of the screen. It seems that because this model has no catch mechanism in the centre of the lid that users are more inclined to open the lid from the corners, which actually bends the whole screen in the process. This is how my daughter had opened the lid when the glass inside cracked unfortunately. They sent it back to Comet but needless to say the are refusing to fix it because their Warranty does not cover "damage to the screen". Now although there is the question of how she opened the lid surely it shouldn`t have cracked like this? Do we have any case to fight here or am i going to have to buy the replacement screen? TIA
