  1. as long as you pay the debt collection agency without ignoring the letter, eg make payment arrangements or pay i full, your credit rating will be ok, natwest may put a late payment on your credit report effecting the credit from excellent to good but a bad credit rating is when you ignore letters and make no payment. If you contact the collection agency and make a payment arrangement wether its monthly installments or in full your credit will be ok.
  2. if its the phone which isn't working then your broadband will be uneffected as the phone line is seperate from broadband. the tv service also runs from broadband connection. the phone line has its own. The cable which comes in has 2 cables together. You need to write a letter to virgin media office as a complain't since the phone line technically belongs to bt which virgin media have a contract with they have to fix it as you are paying line rental to virgin media you are entitled to have this fixed within 30 days. If its longer than 30 days you are entitiled to a refund for each pay period in which your service is down for the phone line. eg: line rental and phone packages must be refunded after 30 days of non operation as you are paying for services you are not receiving. This could be a good court case if you went down that route. If i was in your shoes send a letter to virgin media complaints threatening to end the services if the line isn't fixed and they will jump to it within 2 - 3 days. They don't like losing customers. Here is the address in which to send the letter: Virgin Media, PO Box 333, Matrix Court, Swansea. SA7 9ZJ In the letter add something simillar to this: I have contacted virgin media several times regarding my phone line connection not working, i am entitiled by law to have this fixed hence i am paying line rental for a service i am not receiving. Anything which is rented from a company, it is required by law that it is maintained and fixed by the supplying company. If this issue is not ressolved within the next 30 days i will have no option but to change service providers and claim a refund for paid services not received. You may contact me via post or on the following number: (your phone number) Thanks, regards (your name) don't forget to include your address and contact details on the letter and if possible your account number and account password which you use when contacting virgin media. they will send an engineer round pronto when they get your letter but call you first on the number you give them. They will give you free service on 1 or more packages for several months to say sorry (bribe). I have been in your shoes with the tv service. I hope this helps and let me know how you get on.
  3. Thanks for the reply, the call charges were correct but not covered in the contract. I didn't agree with them terms of the contract as i couldn't afford it. It was a £35 a month iphone contract which ended up at £55 which i couldn't afford. I thought the best way was to cancel the contract so i only pay the remainder of the contract as it only had 4 months left. Thanks for the advice.
  4. I had an 02 contract and cancelled it early because they were charging for calls i had made to certain numbers which they said was not in the contract. I requested a final bill after i cancelled the direct debit and the contract was cancelled. I heard nothing from 02. 4 months later buchanan clark + wells sent me a letter demanding the full amount. A week later they sent me a reminder for the same amount with the option to pay online. The amount was £171. I made a payment online which was only £20 but at least i paid something as i wanted to do fornightly installments. A week later they send me another letter claiming non payment and a court proceeding will be processed for £151. Its funny how its down for non payment when the £20 i paid was deducted from the balance on the new letter. I then made my first mistake by calling them, they would not accept anything other than the full balance, not even monthly installments. A month later which is today i received a call from 01302281596 which is their non premium number. (MODERATORS PLEASE DELETE THE PHONE NUMBER IF IT BREACHES SITE POLICY, THANKS) It turned out to be BCW and asked when i was going to pay. I told them friday 26th march but then again, i can only pay small amount like £50, my dog has just came from vet hospital which is partly why i cannot pay it in 1 go. BCW said an investigator is going to call soon but i'm not worried as i don't think its legal not to accept installments. I would like to ask anyone on this site if there's anything i can do to tackle BCW until i get the balance paid as i'm not sure what's their planning to throw at the fan next or the aircon maybe. I sent them a letter saying they were in breach of the consumer credit act and possible harassment. Reason is i had an 02 laptop with mobile broadband and mobile phone which were to seperate contracts i cancelled. They have gone to 2 different debt collectors at the same time so i am paying both debt collectors for the same creditor which i think is illegal from 02's side. The laptop contract is £650 but i managed to sort £50 monthly payments with credit solution being the collector which i found fairly reasonable to talk to.
