  1. Yes mate it was the Glasgow address, although my cheque for full refund + 8% came from a Manchester branch i think.
  2. And yes its just the PPI part you can claim the 8% on.
  3. Its 8% interest on each individual PPI payments from the date of payment up to the present day. eg,if you paid £20 per month PPI starting 20 months ago. thats £20 with 8% over 20 months, £20 with 8% over 19 months, £20 with 8% over 18 months etc etc Its compound interest so not easy to work out best using one of the spread sheets or calculators available. Hope this helps and good luck.
  4. Its 8% on each individual payment you have made mate not just the total.
  5. Bump ...... Did this ever get anywhere? I have been paying Halifax TMPP for a loooooong time and am considering claiming for mis selling. Do the general PPI templates cover this or could someone point me in the right direction to something more relevant ? Thanks
  6. Bump............... Anyone else have any advice on whether i should accept the offer or if i should push for the 8% and how to go about it ? Thanks
  7. Hi, No this was their first letter offering me anything. The Tesco person investigating the claim said this offer in no way admits liability for mis selling and the offer is purely a goodwill gesture returning me the payments i have made and paying up the remainder of the PPI so the loan amount will also be reduced and i would get the return of payments to me. So you think i should push for the 8% ? Is there a template letter at all for this ? Thanks
  8. Update !! I have received a letter from Tesco telling me they have investigated my claim and they have decided in their opinion, i do not have a valid claim and that i received all the relevant information in order to make an informed judgement whether to take out the policy or not.....BUT.... as a gesture of "goodwill" they will pay me back all the payments to date, just over £3k (which is correct) and deduct all future payment, effectively cancelling the PPI part of the loan from now on. So basically they are offering me what i have paid so far minus the 8% interest i claimed as per county court claims etc. I would like your opinions on whether i should accept this or try the Ombudsman route or small claims court to try and get the additional 8% ? I must admit i am tempted to accept based on the fact i have limited experience of these matters. Thank you in advance for any advice.
  9. Yeah i know, i'm very impatient though I don't know how confident i sould be so will just have to see what happens, i will repost back here though once i get a reply. Thanks
  10. Received a very polite letter back from Tesco bank in response to my letter and claim They are "very sorry to hear i am unhappy with the product" and the complaint will be investigated. Well i suppose i just have to wait to see what they say now ? Or is there anything else i should be doing ?
  11. Ok doing that gives me a total of £3689.37 Thats adding each payment +8% from date payment was made until today, the loan itself runs until 2014. So i should be claiming for this figure of £3689.37 ? My head hurts .............
  12. Think i might have it now.............. First payment of £45 paid on start date say 1st septh 2004 - end date today @8% Next payment 1st Oct - end date today @8% and so on up to the last payment made.... then add them all up ??
  13. So............... eg, £45 + 6.5% interest (their credit charge) + 8% Then multiply this figure by however many payments i have made since the loan started ? Sorry Banish, rest assured your patience is greatly apreciated.
  14. Their letter states the total interest changed on the PPI is £1436.20. Do i not just add this figure to the original PPI loan of £4067 then add 8% to the total ? I get £5943.46 as total with the 8% added........... but i'm probably wrong PS not sure how to use the calculator you mentioned
  15. Also.... i have looked at one of the PPI calculators but i'm not sure how to work out what i should be able to claim, can some one advise with hard figures from the data on the above agreement ? I would be most gratefull. Ps apologies for being a bit "thick" its all new to me
