  1. UTILITIES WAREHOUSE --- RIP OFF --- BEWARE I have been a Utilities Warehouse customer since January 2009. I used to pay all of my utility bills by direct debit to UW and not really had any problems - UNTIL - I moved house in september and my gas and Electricity supply in my new property was already on pre payment metres which I am happy to keep. I then asked UW to take over the prepayment metres at my new property and they then said that would send me a key for the electricity and a card for the gas. Utility warehouse have continued to take monthly payments from my NATWEST bank account and by December 29 I had still had no key or card to pay for my bills (just incase you dont know) to get gas or electricity you have to top up the metres with card or key so I had to use those of a friend which means that her metres are as normal but her account is showing as in credit (with MY money) Anyway on december 29 I again spoke to Utilities Warehouse regarding keys and cards they never arrived within the 5 working days stated so I again called and cancelled my Utilities with them, I also made my last payment to them with a ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND account OVER THE PHONE. NOW on the 2nd February United Utilities have taken money from my RBS account without permission from either myself or the bank - NO DIRECT DEBIT SET UP, NO PERMISSION JUST THE FACT THAT LAST MONTH I MADE A 1 OFF PAYMENT AND THEY OBVIOUSLY KEPT MY DETAILS AND HAVE USED MY BANK CARD DETAILS INCLUDING THE 3 DIGIT SECURITY NUMBER TO OBTAIN FUNDS NOT DUE TO THEM... BEWARE ANYONE CONSIDERING BECOMING A UNITED UTILITIES WAREHOUSE CUSTOMER
