  1. Hi all Just out of interest - do UKPC at Tesco issue tickets direct onto the car windscreen or are they sent out in the post without prior notification? Thanks
  2. It was about £1-1.5k a month o/d - I believe the o/d was interest free. Looks like we might have to draw a line under it and move on.
  3. FOS guy has just been on the phone - he said he has had a quick look and he feels that because the account was in overdraft a lot of the time this means that Barclays will not owe us any of the fees back as we have used the benefits of the additions option. I am starting to wish we had accepted the 12 month refund of the fees initially offered. Unfortunately I only found out that the account had been consistently overdrawn after we rejected the offer. Obviously I dont want to speculate any money on County Court etc unless we are 100% sure we are in the right. However despite the overdraft issue - the fact remain that they upgraded the account without authorisation and she honestly didnt even know that the overdraft was a benefit. She just thought it was a free overdraft like a lot of banks provide. Whats your thoughts? The account was consistently overdrawn for circa 2 yrs.
  4. No reply yet from Barclays. If we have to go to the next step i.e county court claim on F1 form - is ther a fee associated with this procedure?
  5. Thanks for the advice - Formal Complaint letter went today via recorded delivery with the schedule of fees. The only concern is that the account has been overdrawn quite a lot - having said that it still doesn't alter the fact that they took the money without authorisation etc We will see! Thanks
  6. Quick update - had aknowledgement letter back but no further response. Can you explain a bit more RE sending LBA giving a final 14 days to repay. Then issue a court claim at your local county court on form N1. Thanks for all the help
  7. Thanks my OH sent response letter today without the spreadsheet unfortunately - however we have simply rejected their offer and requested a refund of all fees + interest unless they can send us the signed authorisation doc within 14 days or we will go through FOS/courts. Regarding the argument about us picking up on the fees sooner -my OH genuinely thought that she had to pay the fees and didnt have a choice. This is why she never thought to raise the issue - It was me who queried it - we have also put this to them in the letter. WE will wait and see what happens - will post update in about 2yrs probably!!! Thanks for the assistance
  8. Thanks for the response. Barclays actually sent us a statement of all of the payments since 2004. They then stated that they had sent a welcome pack which gave us 90 days to cancel etc etc and also that the onous was on us to check the statements etc etc. Then of course came the "however as a gesture of good will......." I just think it is wrong that they have taken this money without consent and they should pay up in full unless they can provide us with the signed consent form.
  9. Thanks, Yes they upgraded the account without authorisation - we asked them for proof which they have not provided. We have never used any of the benefits (didnt even know we had any benefits). I suppose the only way they could argue it is that the account may have gone overdrawn the odd time - would this really be evidence of us using the additions benefits? Yes I have read the other thread - my worry is that FOS will uphold the goodwill offer in about 6 months time!! My OH wants to accept the goodwill and be done with it but I dont agree.
  10. My OH has had nearly 4yrs worth of additions fees automatically deducted from the account so I have gone down the road of recovering these as the account was upgraded without authorisation. Anyway after months of trying Barclays have offered a goodwill gesture of 12 months worth of fees. What do you reckon -I read on here that the FO upheld a simialr offer as being reasonable, however we feel we should get the full lot back plus interest. Has anyone actually managed to recover all of the fees (i.e. more than 12 months worth)? ~Thanks
