  1. I am due to attend court tomorrow to oppose a warrant of entry order from N power to come in and fit a pre payment meter. N power know full well that the amount on the order is false but are going to court anyway with an amended notice, however, I do not have a human rights letter with the correct amount so can they legally do this. They say that they are just going to tell the judge that the figure on the letter is wrong but do they not have to send me the correct paperwork out in order for me to defend myself correctly?
  2. can you please tell me where to find my thread. i am new here. thanks
  3. hi. i will try to keep this as simple as possible so please bear with me. in april i purchased a washing machine from currys and was talked into taking out their 5 year whatever happens policy. on the 14/09/09 the washing machine broke spilling water all over the kitchen floor and ruining it. i repoerted this to currys who said as part of the whatever happens policy an engineer would contact me within 48 hrs... no contact was made. 16/09/09. i contacted whatever happens direct and was told that they had *forgotton* to ring me and an engineer would be out on the 21st. i advised them that i was on holiday on the 21st so this was not convienient and that it was also outside their terms of contract. again more apologies from the company with the promise that a manager would contact me later that day to sort the problem out.. again no contact. i hired a local engineer from the paper and had the washer fixed. i rang currys and told them the problem was now sorted and not to bother sending anyone out to me. she rudely told me that my contract was now void and they would have no more dealings with me. i went into the currys store and explained to the mananger what had happened, he apologised and called the whattever happens people who told him that as the washer was less than one year old it was not their problem and the problem of currys. currys then told me that as i had taken out a whatever happens policy it was nothing to do with them and they would no longer deal with me. i stated that i was left with an £82 repair bill, no kitchen flooring and no warrenty and i wanted the problem sorting , they sugested that i write to head office which i did, enclosing the original reciept from the independant washing machine engineer. i have recieved nothing back at all from currrys not even an acknowledgement letter, i rang currys again and they said thay had never recieved a ltter and without the receipt thay would do nothing! i wrote another letter asking them to repair the floor, re instate my warranty, fefund the £82 and compensate me for all the stress i have had to endure. still no letter. i called them up again and they said they had recieved my second letter but not the first. they refunded the 82 pound but it took loads of calling on my part. as for the floor that will only pay 300 which is a joke, they will not compensate me for my feelings or re instate my policy and to add insult to injury the washing machine has broken down again and they will not ix it. this has been very upsetting for me and my whole holiday was ruined from it but what makes it worse is that i am currently undergoing serious tests for cancer and the holiday was booked with the fact that it may be the last one i get with my children. what should have been an exciting time was shatterd by the rudeness and crassness of currys even though they admitted they were wrong. can someone please please tell me what to do next. am i right to claim for compensation on my stress and upset. i really do not think i have the strength to go on fighting them but i hate the fact that they can treat customers this way and get away with it.... please help stephanie x
