  1. Don't worry kathryn, you'll soon have your cheque. they made me wait right til the very last day possible but i got what i wanted and so will you. sit back and relax
  2. got a list of charges for my second account, it came to £436. Got a goodwill payment of £160, rang Paul Miney told him i wanted the full amount plus compound interest, received a letter 2 days later saying they are sending me a cheque for £1,182.30. THATS NEARLY £750 IN COMPOUND INTEREST!!!!!! WHAT A RESULT
  3. cheers andrew, that sounds encouraging. I was thinking about talking to an accountant about this compound interest thing. I was thinking that maybe they could work out the compound interest for me so that i could add that to my £875 claim. ( just had news of my 2nd claim against MBNA - £436 charges, they offered a total of £1,226 once they had worked out the compound interest.) Its obviously worth going that extra mile to make sure we get it. Do you have a number to call for MS? Did you say that they would work out the compound interest for you (as with MBNA)? This would be a huge help, as i'm really not sure where to start with it. Don't really just want to let it go to court and claim 8%!!
  4. Has anybody tried to ring Morgan Stanley to see if they want to settle over the phone. I know this works with MBNA and they even work out the compound interest for you.
  5. HI GBZSTRO, i took your advice about asking for compound interest when claiming against MBNA and got a great result, thanks. I've got another claim going now against Morgan Stanley, i was just wondering if you knew how i can work the compound interest out for myself (can't see MS being as helpful as MBNA). The claim is for £875 and obviously i want to get as much as possible out of them which judging by my last claim, compound interest is the best way to go. If i can't find out how to work it out then i shall just have to go with the 8% at the moneyclaim stage, but i'd love to squeeze everything i can out of them. cheers lee
  6. cheers bob, but which one can i claim for, it just states interest on the statement
  7. ha ha martin, there's not enough money in the world that would make me get a man *hitty avatar. lol. nice to see you got your cheque. i'm just waiting for them to close my account now. I'm £600 overdrawn but they have taking about another £200 - £300 in charges since i filed my last claim. This should be fun, cos when they say they want they're £600 back i'm gonna tell them to refund the charges to my account or i will take them to court again, at the end of the day its their own money they're chasing now so lets see if they are a bit more willing to refund the charges, either way it doesn't bother me. ha ha ha ha ha
  8. Just got my statements back from Morgan Stanley. total of charges comes to £875, however this does not include any interest. On my statements it lists interest 3 seperate times, does anybody know why they do this and which i can claim for. Also can somebody please tell me how to work out the compound interest on these charges. I claimed £1160 from MBNA and they worked the compound interest out for me, it came to a total of £2247, so obviously it makes a huge differance to the claim. thanks
  9. Thanks Em, can get a fresh start now, away from A&l forever!!! I've been waiting a long time for this day but it was definitely worth it. I've only just stopped dancing around the house and i've still got a big grin on my face. wish those at A&L could see it. Lee x
  10. :D We have another winner :D At last, just walked through the door from work to a lovely cheque for £3317.66. They made me wait til the very last day but it was worth it!!!!!!! Got a letter saying that they dont admit liabilty and all that crap, and a touching bit at the end saying they will be contacting me about my account. They should be so lucky, i'll be closing the account myself by the end of the week. A big thank you to everybody who gave help and advice especially caro. A big thank you to em for your support, hope you're enjoy your cash.. Well with A&L and MBNA sorted out, its time to move on to Morgan Stanley, Egg, Barclaycard and finally Argos. A message to all of you just starting your claims --- KEEP THE FAITH!!! DONATION WILL BE MADE AS SOON AS THE CHEQUE CLEARS THANK YOU
  11. Can you believe it, its still not here. I'm sure they only have til Thursday. I might try sending an email like Honestknob, it seemed to work there. I think they're taking the P*** now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Cheers weaver, as soon as i get my cheque from A&L its going in my brand new Natwest account, then i'm gonna tot up all the new charges from A&L and ring them to ask if they want to refund them straight away or if they want me go thru the whole process again. If they don't want to sort it out there and then, i'll gladly take them to court again.
  13. Still no cheque, just worked out they have until Thursday to pay up. So hopefully tomorrow may be the day.
  14. Thanks caro, i know what you mean but i think to be honest, its a lot more than i thought i was gonna get so i'm more than happy. Besides i have another account that they are working out for me without me even sending any letters, i dont know why but i just feel that i can trust them, and i know how stupid that sounds!! Besides if i don't think it sounds right i will request my S.A.R. I just wish that they were all so happy to settle, just think how much time, court costs etc the banks could save themselves if stopped been so petulant. Still waiting for my cheque from A&L even though they filed an acknowledgement of service 3 weeks ago
