  1. Thanks Shadow, Have tried to complain to lidls they ever dont understand what your saying and only word they know is payment/money/debit card and we sent letter to which they ignored in April, I have contacted lidl food store customer services they said they would investigate and get back to me which they didnt by phone but found email buried inmy email from May explaining they couldn't reach me by telephone and wanted to know if everything was sorted out. I sent email back just a moment ago that it was far from being sorted and explained about account being closed down and resurrected again and if they dont deal with this i will take my 200+ pound a month i spend in store somewhere else as when i think about lidl it makes me angry that some dodgy outfit running a business with there name ripping people blatantly off.
  2. Hi well yesterday after 5 months lidl has done it again 9th Sep Took a payment from my account, I thought i had sorted this back in april when i rang lidl movies who shut down the account and said it would never happen again. I tried to login to lidl account after the call to find an error saying there was no account associated with the email so they had done what they said and shut down the account. So i decided i didn't need to shut down my bank account. But as said they took another payment yesterday from my bank account to which i immediately tried to login to lidl account and the account was active again showing the payment they had taken, Again rang the bank who said they wont do nothing even thought in april this was esculated as a complaint and they refunded some of the payments they admitted that it was unusual but continued to tell me they couldn't do nothing as we gave the card details all that time ago its just a free pass for lidl to *take* money as and when they want. DO NOT TAKE ANY TRIAL WITH THESE **people** AS YOU WILL OPEN YOUR DEBIT CARD UP TO THEM TO TAKE MONEY WHEN THEY WANT EVEN IF YOU CANCEL.
  3. About a year ago I joined Lidl Movies. Was ok for the first few months, but I then found I wasnt watching the dvds when they were sent to me, so instead of paying for a service I wasn't using I decided to cancel my subscription. All went well, I had no problems with them when I cancelled. However, on the 7th April I check my online banking and notice a payment of 11.27 had been taken from my account, I contacted the bank immediately but they said they couldnt tell me until the next day or so where it had gone. Again on the 8th of April another payment of 11.27 was taken from my account. I rung the bank and they said the payment on the 7th had gone to lidl movies. I thought this was odd considering I cancelled my subscription, had no service from Lidls movies for months, but they start taking money from my card again. They couldnt tell me where the payment on the 8th was going until the following day, but it was obvious lidls had taken another payment. I asked the bank to refund the money and stop the pending payment but they said they couldn't do that as I had given them my card details so basically they can take what they want when they want. After an hour of arguing with them on the phone I had to give in. I asked them to cancel my card, they said it was no point doing that as even with a new card, Lidls Movies can still take money from me as they have the authorisation code! That image doesn't even come close to how I felt! I contacted Lidls Movies who apologised but said they were unable to refund me, but if I returned to them they would give me 2 months free. I told them I did not want 2 free months, I wanted my money refunded. They refused (then the same day dispatched dvds out to me ). Gave up with them on the phone so emailed them, had a reply saying sorry you're thinking of leaving (huh, id left a long time ago!!!) what can we do to make you stay? Anyway today (28th April) they take another payment of 11.27. Rung the bank who again refused to do anything, but said I should cancel my card!! Why say this when I was first advised there was no point?? Rung Lidls Movies, they apologised for their mistake and promised me a refund - FINALLY i thought I was getting somewhere. I then check my account a few hours later and Lidls have taken yet another payment! Where do I stand with these people? I will have to shut my bank account down, but how do I get my money refunded? Thanks Annmarie
  4. I took out a policy with Budget, only because they were the cheapest I found. I paid the deposit and set up a direct debit for monthly payments. The 1st payment was due out on the 6th September. On the 9th September I logged on to my online banking to see that the money hadn't been taken, and that the Direct Debit had been cancelled - this could have been a mistake on my end as my Partner said he cancelled some direct debits and could have done this one by mistake. I rung them up and set the DD up again, then I gave them my card number so that they could take the payment for the month outstanding. The person I spoke to took the card number, then after being on hold for over 5 minutes he come back and said he wouldn't take the payment just yet as they wanted to make sure that the original DD payment hadn't gone through. He said he would ring me in 6-7 working days to get the payment. He assured me my insurance would not be cancelled and that they allow 21 days from the date of missed payment, for you to pay before cancelling your policy. I have had no phonecall from him to collect payment, but today I receive a letter to say that the policy will be cancelled as of 27th September. Where do I stand here? If the policy is going through the cancellation process, will they accept my payment. I tried to pay them last week, but they wouldnt accept it, so I think if they do refuse to take it again they are being very unfair. Thanks Annmarie:???:
  5. Im assuming I still have to pay, there was no mention of a free week. Maybe I should ring them up and ask them, that as im going to be unable to use the product for a week, do I get the week free?
  6. Update again, waited 3 hours for them to ring me back with an update from Hotpoint. Ive now been told Hotpoint wont let Brighthouse report a fault / arrange a repair because they are a 3rd party. I then quoted his own words about me paying 'OSC for them to go through Hotpoint for me' I also told them that under the Sale of Goods Act they (Brighthouse) are responsible. He then gets arsy and says 'You dont need to quote the Sale of Goods Act to me'. I said there was every need when a brand new tumble dryer breaks down after 2 days! He then asks for the seriel number and model number again, even though that was given to him this morning. **As I was writing this I get a call back to say Hotpoint will be here Wednesday between 8am and 6pm -so we will see.**

  8. Thank you for your reply crocdoc. Ive just rung them back, again nothing had been booked in, in regards to the repair. Was told they would have to contact Hotpoint as it is their responsibility as that is their procedure after a year. Ummm we are not talking a year, we are talking 3 days!! I told them this and asked what exactly I was paying service cover for and he said I was paying OSC for them to contact hotpoint?? Well then surely I can cancel the OSC and contact Hotpoint myself?
  9. I had my new tumble dryer delivered on the 23/08/2010 by the 25/08/2010 the Tumble Dryer started to play up by tripping the electrics. I rung the store up at 4.50pm on the 25th was told by the bloke I spoke to that he would ring me straight back. At 5.20pm he'd still not rung back so I rung them again,he told me he would ring me before the store closes at 6pm. At 5.59pm he had still not rung back, so I rung them - hmmmm how do they like it when they get hounded by calls Someone different answered this time and she said there was no notes to say I had rung or to arrange someone to come out to look at the dryer. She said she would have to wait until the next day to ring about a repair as the offices were now closed, I told her that was fine but that I wanted someone out asap to sort it for me. She then says she doesn't know when someone can come out, and that it would probably be next week. Thats not good enough, they will expect me in store on Saturday to pay, and I told her im not paying for something I cant use - I told her the agreement works both ways!! She was really nice though, and told me she would ring me back today (26/08/2010) - lets see if she sticks to her word!! I know all about Brighthouse and the only reason I went with them was because I was desperate. We are a family of 5 and it was a nightmare trying to dry clothes with the weather we are having! I dont blame them for the fault with the tumble dryer, but it is upto them to get it fixed for me.
  10. Thank you for all your help. Ill apply to the court to see if they will accept installments. I suppose I got off lightly, especially how the police are coming down hard on untaxed vehicles.
  11. Not as it makes any difference, but the car wasnt being used. It was parked up. But I know that makes no difference as it wasn't on private land. I will apply to the court to see if I can pay in installments. Thank you for your help Annmarie
  12. Will send them a S.A.R tomorrow morning. No, ive not claimed anything back from them, as even though these charges are on my account, they are not charges I have actually paid them. Though when I do get my statements, im sure there will be a few charges on there I can claim back. Thank you for your replies. Annmarie
  13. use of vehicle while failing to display a valid tax disc.
  14. About 2 years ago, I couldnt afford to tax my car so declared it off the road. I had no drive or garage, and was in a new area so didnt know anyone who could keep the car on private land for me. I moved it from the main road and parked it in the back lane, behind my flat. Cars hardly ever used this lane, but I fell out with the neighbour down below me, and believe he reported me. Anyway I ended up with a fine from the DVLA, which I paid. But I also got one from the police. I didnt pay it, and yesterday they found my new address and had transfered the debt to a local court. The fine is for 159.00. Now, before I moved i disputed the fine with the court and they sent me photographic evidence. Now I cant remember the exact picture, but it was either that they didnt get the full number plate in the picture, or there was a car parked in front me when the picture was taken, and you couldnt 100% say that was my car. I know im probably clutching at straws here, but is there anyway to get out of paying this debt? The letter said failure to pay could result in my arrest. I have 3 small children, and to be arrested would be awful. If i do have to pay, I can not afford the full amount in one go, so can I pay so much every week / month? Thanks Annmarie
