Hi, on my credit file it states that a defaulted account is removed 6 years from the first default, does this mean if i fully settle an account that started in 2004 it will be completely removed from my file as it is now 2010?

Morning All, I have ben offered a 'full and final' settlement on a debt. However despite me telling them i would only settle if they flagged my account as 'satisfied', they continue to tell me they can only flag as a partial settlement. I have settled with previous creditors for less than these guys and on my credit file it says they are satisfied (SF) whereas these want to put a PS on the account. Is there a way round this or is it take or leave it situation? Any more info req let me know
