the funding corp worst company ever!!!

can anyone shead some light for me i had my car stolen and the insurance company are only offering half of what is still owing on it !!! TFC say tough we have to pay the difference we stupidly bought it from carcraft and someone mentioned we should of had the option of gap insurance but we were never told about this whats the best course of action ?
