Can they do this after 8 years????
Miahnick replied to Miahnick's topic in Credit Reference Agencies
Thanks for your quick reply BeauBrummie. I have been making payments ever since I made an arrangement with GE Capital (Now Santander) back in 2001 after they served me with default notice. I thought this one would dropped off automatically after 6 years from my credit report. But its only started appearing from early this year, 8 years after that notice. -
I have a problem. Default notice was served in 2001. 2 entries appeared this year. One from Santander/Debenham , showing as settled, and the other one is from (the famous) CL Finance. I wrote to Experian and after few emails they removed Santanders record. But CL Finances report still there. This one is showing as code 6 ( payment missed). Can they do this after 8 years? Any advice would be highly appreciated.

I used c/o Lewis Group address on my CCA. Now is that the right one? Which one do I use????

I just checked my Experian report and realised that C L Finance has reported the same debt that was reported by someone else before. Earlier one now showing as settled (saying special instruction end date 01/12/2006. The file was last update in January/08. CL Finance Ltd reported it again recently. Two entries now showing for the same debt. Should Experian accept two entries for the same debt?

Sent a CCA to DCA on 21st. Still waiting for a reply. But my credit report has been updated again this month with the same. I am still paying, but at a reduced rate. Can a DCA report it to a CRA?
