Thanks for you help guys, Im not sure if the account was settled before or after the default was placed on. Also, what is the SARS?

i say in the title it was 4 years ago but it was acutally 3 years and 10 months

Eveining all, Need a bit of adive.I am 25, career driven but have all of a sudden had a shock about my credit score. I signed up to experian and have just found that C L Ltd placed a default on my account 3 years ago. I had a house fire back in 2007 and GE were unable to contact me due to this even though the day after the fire which destoryed our house i called them to make them aware of my new contact address. The account is fully settled as this came to my attention when i called them to check on the status of my account. There was no mention of a default nor did i ever recieve a letter ab:?:out this. Any advice?
