  1. No I'm not sure, where would I find out? Was thinking of trying Ocean Finance? Thanks for advice,
  2. Hi in similar position probably worse! Did you manage to get a loan at all?
  3. Hi, I have one ccj for next one payment left to clear it from 2009. Two defaulted loans one for £1700 left and the other £2400 left saying 6 months overdue even though I have made regular payments throughout and not missed any for 8 months. £1300. 00 arears which will be clear by end of Feb. My husband doesn't have a ccj but the other three things are on file. Bank account and phone contracts good and lived in the same house for 9 years. (Wow that was a mouthful!) We need aloan Feb time for £6000.00 and am considering trying for either a homeloaner or secured loan, (I know alot of you will think don't even try but we need to long story!) Any one know of any company that will except us or my husband alone. We earn good money now and can proove this and am getting back on track but our credit rating is in a wreck! I haven't applied any where yet as we havent had any searches for a couple of years now. If any one out there can help telling me which bank or company will except us or have had similar experience I know the rate will be higher but need one. Thank you in advance
  4. Thanks I have got experian but not others so I will have a look that's a great suggestion - thanks for that, wish me luck!
  5. Hi I had two payday loans, wageday advand and payday uk, wageday set up a direct debit the day before my wages went in and I missed it so they got their £250 back even though it left me short of money that month, but the other I still owe £500 to. This has been given to Keiston Lock or something like that and they have been constantly ringing my work phone! How embarassing! I told them I had no debit cards etc and said to go and pay over the couter at Barclays, just waiting a letter so I can negotiate a repayment. I know that it is easy to get in to this and I must have paid hundreds in rollling over the loans each month. Good luck!
  6. Many thanks for all that information, I am really struggling to get used to having such a poor credit rating as was ok up to about a year ago before things started going really bad! I will start researching mortgages. I saw the bank (Abbey) this morning and they were not much use. Their advice was to try and apply for a FOURTH bank account with them while I pay my overdrafts off with the others! So I haven't even gone there. I have also obtained a recent CCJ just to add to things does anyone know if this would just make a new mortgage impossible? Thanks
  7. Hi all, New to site so not sure if I am putting this on to the right forum, but have read and read the site which has helped so far but need advice from those of you who have come out of the other side! I have debt and overdraft of around £10k in all, had my head in sand for quite a while and only just started to sort out DMP's so as you can imagine my credit rating is REALLY BAD! (just checked it). I can't get anything at all on credit, I may need a parachute bank account and think I will struggle, also would like to move next year and don't think I will get another mortgage. I know I am writing alot but has anyone come through the other side and has some advice on a bank that will take me, I can't go with Halifax and Abbey for definate as am in debt with those! Many thanks in advance

  9. Hi everyone, I am in agreement with all of the above, I owe just under £4k with the same halifax loan from about three years ago and have been harassed by BOS for the debt. The best advice is definately try not to give out phone numbers or speak on the phone to them only do letters as they can be really unkind! I have done the DMP from national debt wbsite and sent that with an offer and am going to start paying at the end of the month. Do not offer too much as they will want more! Also have you any accounts still open linked with Halifax as I got a letter saying they were allowed to take money out to offset the amount owed? Don't know if anyone else has had that one? Good luck and don't let them scare you as they did me!
  10. Wow I have definately learnt something today! I can't believe they treat already vulnerable people! Moorcroft I am experiencing as well through a stupid £500 debt with Next who I now have a CCJ with - things seem to be going from bad to worse! The only good thing is none of them have my phone numbers. While I'm here any one had experience with Black Horse finance - I no I have them all! Many thanks for all your replies.
  11. Hi all, I have sent letter offering £100 per month as I did the payplan on the national debt website to work out what I could afford and sent that along with it so they should not be able to argue it (hopefully). Will just await their response if not just start paying it on the due date. I do own my house so that is a worry and no longer bank with Halifax or associated banks so they can't take out any money as I have read horror stories that they have done that too! Many thanks for your responses,
  12. Thank you for that assurance, I have written a letter stating that I will pay a regular amount on a regular date and will stick to it, the way they write these letters are so scary sometimes. I have another loan to Black Horse so will do the same to those although I have had a letter from someone about that one who actually did visit the house! Thanks again
  13. Hi, I am new to the site and need any one's advice. A defaulted loan with Halifax has been reffered to the in house debt collectors BOS. I am trying to arrange a payment plan with them but they are being unhelpful, I have received a FINAL NOTICE today they want me to ring or pay up within 7 days or else threaten court action etc. Luckily they do not have a contact number for me so have been let off with that pleasure so far. I am writing back today to say I will pay an amount but can't do it till the end of the month when I get paid, does any one know if they will do anything before then? I owe £3700 in total and have offered £150 a month which will still be a struggle along with all my other debts! Please help, thanks
  14. Hi new to this and in lots of debt, Next have had Moorcroft act on their behalf and have sent a clain form for county court judgement even though I offered a repayment. They said to complete the form which I did and now have entered a judgement on me so now I am in big trouble for 6 years! Definately dispute it as I offered payment and now look where I am! Good luck.
