  1. Cheers TheOldRogue, will be keeping an eye out for mine!
  2. Thanks for the info Old Rouge! Much apprecaited!
  3. Great! Thanks for the help! Will proceed as advised and revert if any problems with this approach.
  4. Well the letter does say, under a section titled Why you may be entitled to a refund that: Going with the above, I guess maybe I should write something along the lines of: Do you think the above is sufficient?
  5. Hiya, I just received another letter from CPP which included a "Compensation Claim Form". One of the section on this form is "Section B: Why you want to be considered for compensation?". I've had the CCP thing on my Barclays Credit Card since about 2006, I do recall the Barclays staff urging me to take out this policy in order to protect from fraud, identity theft and such, and they were very insistent that I take it out. What would you recommend to put in this section? Shall I just mention that I was aggressively mis-sold a policy that I did not need? Thanks! P.S. Not sure if this is relevant, but in December CPP took out another premium for this silly policy of 80 odd pounds from my Credit Card, I immediately got in touch with the Barcalycard who advised I contact CPP directly and ask for cancelation and a refund, which I promptly did as well as give them a earful about how ridiculous it is to continue to take money from customers for a useless product.
  6. Thanks Srfrench! Only problem is that I have money on account with them, so in essence they have already charged me, but I will persist and get a breakdown.
  7. Thanks Geoff, I will definitely try to do that. Yes, Kurvaface clearly does have some issues. Urban Dictionary: trolling Not trying to create anything, thats why I came on here and asked for opinions and advice. Assumptions are the mother of... I'm sure you know how the rest goes. Totally reasonable??? They have no idea about what I know and what I dont, as far as they are concerned I am their most productive employee and the least costly. Once again, you are working of pure assumption. Besides, even if they did know, judging by your comments you would pay a completely incompetent and useless employee more just for loyalty/integrity.. LOL... ridiculous.. any actually good staff would leave and your business would go down the crapper.
  8. I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right place, MOD's please move if necessary. I had recently employed a solicitor to sort out some matters on my behalf. The matter has now been sorted and I am awaiting a final invoice. I requested that the solicitor also provide a breakdown of fees/charges for this matter, to which he replied: "please note that we do not provide a breakdown unless a client raises concerns about our fees". Is this normal practice? Seems a bit odd, especially considering that one would not be able to raise concerns without seeing the breakdown. Is my solicitor trying to take me for a ride?
  9. Yeah, thanks for the advice.. this is a route I am currently looking at, but will have to see how it goes, the job market is kinda crap at the moment.
  10. Lucky you... Yeah, thought about it, but 3 problems: 1) No access to evidence 2) Very powerful lawyers 3) Potential for greater repercussions to me and/or my family.
  11. LOL... we're off season at the moment.. nothing to do
  12. Well thats all good and well, but no computers are involved... I have a bunch of files in front of my nose, which I can open and look at any time without anyone even batting an eyelid..
  13. Thanks for your views everyone. I think I will just wait for the new season to start and for the newbie to shoot himself in the foot. They then will have to rely on me to get things done, which I will if they meet my demands. Will also start looking for another job meanwhile. Regarding snooping.. well, its not so much snooping as their carelessness. Yep
  14. Yeah, does sound familiar, but its still unfair. I will do once the job market picks up again. I just think its unfair that I do the work, better faster and more of it at a cheaper price than my predecessors, yet some kid can come in of the street and without any effort, experience or actual work done can get paid more than me. The reason my boss knows I am Muslim is because of my name and the fact that I am the only non-white person at work and look kinda different. I dont have any other reason to think why the MD would create such disparity in his employees wages. It seems pretty simple, I am different to the rest of the comapny, I get treated differently. Work wise he cant fault me and I can easily prove it to him or anyone. I dont see any other reason for him treating me this way.
  15. Yeah, thats what I was thinking. But on what grounds would an ET be, discrimination?
  16. I work in logistics, primarily to do with shipping, high value and high volumes. My turnover is quicker due to less mistakes and better knowledge of the financial instruments than my predecessors, which in turn means that the Co can do more business. On top of this, I am supposed to train/supervise the new guy so that he can do the same job as me, he has no experience, has not done any of this work yet, but gets paid more than me. Makes no sense to me and I dont really see how they can expect me to show him anything with this sort of treatment.
  17. Well, like I say. If I am doing most of the work and getting paid the least. My quality of work is better than my predecessors and yet I get paid the least... well, it seems that I am being discriminated against. The only difference between me and the others is my ethnicity. So not really even a stretch there. Of course my opinion is biased.
  18. Thanks for the advice, I will revert soon. But, I do think I am being taken for a ride, I do the bulk of this companies trading and get paid the least. If thats considered fair, well, I guess I will have to quit soon.
  19. Yeah, I figure he will try something like that. However, I can categorically prove that my quality of work is better than the people that I replaced, of course he will just ignore this fact if he wants. I will keep my sources regarding accounting info secret, will just say I had a discussion with the other employees about this. But there is no way he can justify paying an inexperienced ops manager who I am supposed to supervise more than me. Thats just blatantly BS. But yeah, lets see how my chat with him goes first. Thanks again!
  20. Thanks for your replies! I used to do the non-trading related company accounts in the first 3 years of my employment and still have access to all the bank/company statements. As well as all official internal company correspondence. Fort the IT work, the MD just shrugged me off as in "he couldn't give a ****". Regarding the year end bonus, I have not yet asked, but I will be getting my passport back from my solicitor today with my ILR endorsed and have a word with the MD about this whole issue. Will update here later today. They were in the job 3 or so years before me, but in terms of workload I did more than they did, about a 55/45 % split. Furthermore, the whole time during my employment up till Jan 2009 I was also acting as the MD's PA, for this I received nothing. As a side note, because of our filing and communications system I can easily prove that I did the bulk of the work and acted as the MD's PA. If thats of any relevance.
