  1. That's a thought Tilly - if you broke both your legs he wouldn't be able to scratch you
  2. Yep - send letter along above lines, obviously from your OH. Why explain figures over phone? you want a copy of the letter they have from the bank which will explain them. Then you can post it up!
  3. Thanks, thought so. It confused me when I first rang them, didn't know whether I wanted contribution or income - just told them everything and they worked it out. Savings were taken into account with h ben/c tax with me though - I had to pay a bit for first 6 months until my savings dropped. And they wanted proof of what I had spent savings on. Just thought I'd mention it, when you aren't used to claiming you don't realise things like that. Luckily I could show where they had gone! Jan
  4. Hi Sorry, not sure. My claim was Northern Rock. But the stickies will be right. Remember to send recorded delivery in case they mess you about. Jan
  5. Supposed to be Blue WKD with a Port. It is nice but gives you a bad head. But you could experiment with red wine instead.
  6. How much NIC do you have to have paid to get contributions based for 6 months? Shouldn't Shuggler get that if he has been working for 6 years? Even though he might not get income based after the six months because his wife is working? They wanted my bank account statements, savings etc when I first claimed for contributions based. Might have been because I claimed housing/c tax as well though.
  7. me too. with red wine on top instead of Port for Cheeky Vimto's.
  8. If the bank officer said that, then put it in. I'd just send the whole letter.
  9. It will probably be easier if you get the SAR first then do all three claims together. It'll be easier to keep track that way as well (just in case they try and offer you full & final settlement on the one claim). It depends how fast you want the money really. Jan
  10. I've had a very interesting day watching people trying to drive up the hill - they get so far then slide back down again. Very nerve racking - only a matter of time before they slide into my car!
  11. That would be cruel - my big cats would put it in its place in about 5 mins. But Damien (sorry, Casper) would probably love it. But I think my kitten is very settled now and would be a pain if she moved homes.... so you are stuck with Damien launching himself at you :)
  12. BT did the same to me years ago. I no longer use direct debit with them as I don't trust them. Their monthly costs were always a lot higher than necessary and like Buzby says, they are a nightmare to get money back from. I get my bills on-line and pay by debit card. I get charged more for this privilege but would rather do that than give them access to my bank account. I intend changing my supplier soon - but I suspect I have a fault on the line and want BT to fix that first so they can't just blame the new provider as I believe they are prone to do. Jan
  13. You'll have to find something to tire it out - my kitten's easy to tire as she'll play fetch for hours. :-|
  14. I only have to cook soup as brother is having all his teeth out under general anaesthetic on Xmas eve so won't be able to eat solids. I'm going over to stay with him so they'll let him out of hosp xmas eve, otherwise he'd be stuck in there xmas day.
  15. Sorry, meant to post yesterday but my connection kept dropping - must be the snow. Did FOS not decide in your favour then?
  16. We need the template letters - someone suggested all hitting the courts at the same time? sounded good to me.
  17. Hi You will have given Alch authorisation to act on your behalf when you instructed them. So you do need to write to them to revoke the authority and also copy the bank in so they know they are no longer authorised by you to realse info to Alch. Alch won't be happy. Try and blame them. Something like "After numerous attempts to contact you with no response I herewith revoke the authority given to you and have also informed XXX Bank not to correspond with you further with regard to my account via a copy of this letter." See if anyone else wants to add anything to it. See what response it brings - at the very least I imagine they will finally ring you! Jan
  18. I stopped paying my loan whilst reclaiming PPI, reason was that I cancelled my PPI at same time I did reclaim letter, so I was chasing them for new loan amount to pay minus PPI. My point being that irrespective of PPI investigation outcome, PPI was cancelled and I was awaiting new figure from them. Northern Rock didn't agree with this and chased me - I argued the point and I said I couldnt' pay until they gave me new amount. I have now won PPI reclaim and am arguing the point re them putting me down as late payments and not dispute. It'll probably go to FOS so I'll let you know. I hadn't had a late payment before this though so wasn't too worried. Jan
  19. Hello all This thread started off as mine but now Bob has come on I think I'll get it changed to something like "Plusnet Queries Thread" as he is helping everyone. Jan
