  1. If Mint (BOS) have not chased this debt since 2006 and did not request a token payment then the debt is statute barred. Whatever the general policy of Arden C/M may be regarding legal action, they can not pursue a statute barred debt in Court. Under revised OfT guidelines issued in October 2011, Arden are required to state that they understand this debt to be statute barred. Write to them and advise that this is a statute barred debt and that, due to physical difficulties, you are a vulnerable Client. Provide evidence of Disability Benefits and Medical condition. They should then confirm that no further action will be taken. If not, tell them to get lost.
  2. The Solicitors Regulation Authority have advised that DG Solicitors is not a firm of Solicitors regulated in England/Wales. They do have 7 registered solicitors operating at the same address (part of an HSBC building). D G solicitors have, however, filed documents at Northampton County Court in which they sign as being 'DG Solicitors, Solicitors to the Claimant - HSBC. They are being investigated for this by various agencies. D G Solicitors Limited is not a firm of solicitors but part of HSBC's debt collection service and of Metropolitan Collection Services. DG Solicitors has no legal right to purport to be solicitors or to act as such in a Court of law (although at the latest hearing in the County Court they were replaced by a real firm of solicitors. DG Solicitors Ltd also specialise in 'buying in' debt at a small percentage of the actual debt owed and then bullying people into paying up, even after the 6 year mandatory time limit. These matters are currently being investigated and a report is being filed with the Fraud Squad.
  3. Firstly, I do not know when you first posted this. However, you should be advised that D G Solicitors of 12 Calthorpe Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham are not a firm of solicitors. They are D G Solicitors Limited, a Company with dubious links to HSBC Bank and are a debt collection service, not a regulated firm of solicitors. D G Solicitors have been reported to the Solicitors Regulation Authority and are currently being investigated for making misrepresentations to a civil UK Court and for allegations of fraud.
