I recently took out a loan spread over 3 years with FirstDirect. When I took the loan out I was assured that I would be able to repay it early which was my intention as I was expecting some money. However earlier in December I phoned FirstDirect to settle the loan only to be told that this would not be possible as it was not their policy. I therefore used the money to pay off money on a 0% credit card. Earlier today I revisted the paperwork for the loan which categorically states early resettlement is possible. I phoned FD who confirmed this was the case. What recourse if any do I have ? As as far as I am concerned I was wrongly advised.
