  1. And now another penalty on landlords which will lead to further under supply of housing as more private landlords pull out of property investment or get even pickier on the tenants they rent to. All a non paying tenant needs to do now is make a fraudulent complaint about the state of the property and they can't be evicted. Very clever. There are truly some morons out there making up these rules.
  2. We have a 2006 Tuscon, still only just in warranty and suffering the same gearbox problem which only occurred since it went in for its last service. Since then it has been back in around 6 times having various parts replaced (Including the clutch hydraulics) despite the service manager stating that it needed a new gearbox from the outset, Hyundai said they must fix it. We are at a point now where they still have the car, but this time the fault isn't evident to them so they aren't prepared to fix it, when clearly there is a fault as why would they have replaced so many parts. I don't blame the dealership, they are just the middleman for the brand. But they will have to be stuck with the problem as it looks like we will be taking legal advice before the car runs out of warranty. From out research the car isn't fit for purpose and not being able to change from 1st to 2nd without forcing it will eventually lead to an accident across and intersection or damaging the engine from having to red line it to get clear in 1st gear. Apart from the gear box issue that only occurred since the car was last serviced, it has been a really good vehicle. All I want is it back working properly and my faith returned in the brand as I do quite like the spec of the Santa Fe and was considering trading up to that had this problem not raised it's head.
  3. Hi, I have been made redundant. OK no problem there has to happen, however I am a little concerned the company hasn't followed any formal selection process. - I wasn't given any formal notice that I was in a selection process. - On asking to be told of the selection process I was told it was because there wasn't enough work to sustain myself and one other, however 3 others are being kept on. - They have chosen my finish date as of 2 weeks prior to me being with them 5 years. Basically I am suspicious that they didn't want to give me a longer notice period and pay extra redundancy. - When verbally informed that the company needs to make cut backs we were told that we will need to have our hours reduced or there will need to be redundancies. The whole staff with the exception of the receptionist verbally agreed to this (Of which I had a few hours to agree as I was about to go on holiday) What I don't know is where I stand. They have offered to help out with possible contracting work should it be available so I have been reluctant to cause problems, however its becoming more apparent that this isn't likely to be the case. Any one got any informed advice or course of action? Regards
