  1. If they should reject it, what would that mean for me? The CAB lady said to ring lloyds and insist that both debts were paid off together. I really don't know what to do
  2. Good luck my friend, I'm watching this thread with interest
  3. Hi Dayglo et all! I've been down to C.A.B today to find out that we originally started trying to come to an arrangement with Lloyds TSB in January 2005. They refused my first offer which the C.A.B sent. They defaulted both my loan and my current account on 06/05/05. They then wrote to me via the C.A.B on the 20th May 2005 accepting my original offer after they defaulted me. Are they allowed to do this? My advisor at CAB told me to ring them about the £109 and tell them that we were dealing with both accounts as one, and have a reference number which involved both accounts. Can you or anyone suggest the best way to go about this from here? Should I write and ask to see the default notices or should I go in a different direction? Sorry for long post and thanks
  4. As Dayglo asked, did you get served notice of this?
  5. Its ok dayglo, I realise the mileage that everone will get can vary and as such I am more thinking nothing ventured nothing gained (I certainly hope not to lose additional money though) I just don't understand why there are two defaults, I may well have received a notice in 2005 for the bank account (I will have to check this) but not the loan account. I also am lost as to why the bank account is not marked as settled
  6. This might sound mad mate, but if I could just get the defaults removed thats all I want. I'm pretty sure there are some mammoth bank charges there - but they don't stop me feeling about 6 inches tall when I get refused an electron card, the defaults do! If you think I need to claim my charges back to support the removal of my default (which probably had a great deal to do with them getting there in the first place) then I shall do so. Thanks for your time mate, and any help you can give would be much appreciated.
  7. Are you sure this isn't a scare letter mate? They tend to send pretty strong letters when they are trying to get money back out of you!
  8. Hi all, I've finally received my credit report from Experian to find some little horrors within it. I have paid off both my LLoyds bank account and my loan and yet I have a current balance still registered as outstanding on my bank account @ £109. My loan account is marked as settled but has a default marker of 06/05/05. I never received a default notice for this account in the 2005 year. I don't have the paper for previous years but surely this can't be right? Can you please advise me on where to go from here - obviously I want to sort out the defaults and change the bank account default to at least settled but whats my best method of attack
  9. Hey tink, Just a quick update, been down town today and got myself a postal order and filled in the paper credit report access thing. I'll be sending a S.A.R tomorrow as I've just looked through around 4 months of bank statements to find charges of as much as £40 in one go! Just out of interest what is the charge they put for an unpaid DD if you know (lloyds)? Thanks guys
  10. Thanks very much for your time mate, and your help would be appreciated
  11. Hello Dayglo!! I am indeed sharing your world currently, not too keen on it myself!! Both accounts are settled now, and I'm assuming they put a default on there for each account. However I paid it back into a single account number to settle the debt. I have a letter from lloyds saying that the account is now settled also! What would you suggestI do? Am now going to start reading the monster thread that is yours Thanks for your input
  12. I cannot recall getting a notice at all, but I must have I guess. I lost my job and as such lost a decent income. Late and upaid DD's mounted up and I have since managed to settle my overdraft bank account and the balance of my loan. The default as far as I'm aware was placed at the end of 2004. I will be applying for my experian report tomorrow to look into this further. Basically I'm tired of being punished in not being able to even get a proper debit card. We go out for meals or a night out and I have to ensure I have enough cash. Its very embarrassing having to do this constantly and I find it makes tasks such as getting fuel when I finish work at past 12 etc near impossible! I am no longer a customer of said bank, I currently have a rather very basic account with another bank Thanks for your time.
  13. Thank you for clearing that up for me guys. Am I best to use SurlyBonds method to try and get it removed? I take it people have had success with this way of going about it? Sorry for all the questions I find some of this very confusing :-|
  14. Also guys before I go out : Am I best going with SurlyBonds method of removal on this, or another that I found simply asking for proof of the default (signed?). I think from what I read, SurlyBonds not only does this but also goes into detail about the Protection Act? Thanks for your time.
  15. Hi all, As far as I'm aware I have a default registered against my name. However I am not able to recall receiving one through the post. Do these come as official documents which need a signature on receipt or do they come as normal mail does? Thanks for any help, Mike
