Hi all, Sorry if this is in the wrong part I have recently started to receive letters from the above in reference to some debt however... I don't recognise the company The name they are sending it to is my old married name they address me as Mr and not Mrs They are starting to send letters now every week and keep on thretening to send someone out to my door. I haven't called them up so far as my guessing is when they see the debt is in a Mr name and I am a female they won't tell me anything however the letters are getting really annoying. I think I have a debt from back in 1999/2000 with a mobile phone I got when I was a silly teen however I would have though that debt would have been written on after 11-12 years? if this is to do with this debt I wasn't married then so surely the debt would be in my maiden name of which I went back to a few years back? Any advice would be really apreciated.

Wow, I have had such an interesting read up on the forum about this company and Macenzies. Now i received like the majority of people a letter from Response stating that a debt of £303.19 was owed from Macenzies (Barclays) I called them up last night which I now know I shouldn't have however the girl I spoke to seemed ok, the call kinda went like this.... Me: Hi there your ref is .......... I am calling to find out what this letter is in regards to Woman: You owe money to Barclays bank Me: Hmmmm I haven't had an account with Barlays since I was about 19, I am 30 This year... what is this debt from? How is it so much? when is this debt from? Woman: can you confirm your D.O.B Me: No, why should I confirm anything to you when you can't confirm any details to me? Woman: would you like me to send you a copy of the original agreement and details of this debt Me; Yes please Woman: ok this has been requested goodbye I am now guessing from reading up that I will receive no such thing however I will more than likely get more and more threatening letters of which I shall pay no attention to. Seems very very fishy to me and I will let you know if I do get anymore letters from them.
