  1. No, she didn't attend the hearing. She was advised by the person who visited to set up the arrangement to ignore any further correspondence with regard it as they would be cancelled with the agreement being in place. I will try the website, thank you
  2. Please can someone help I live with my Mam and she has recently been evicted due to arrears on the mortgage. She set up a payment agreement with her current mortgage company, in the meantime the company was bought out and the new company did not accept the agreement leading to her being evicted. We have been lucky enough to find a rented property but we are having a lot of issues gaining access to the old premises to remove our belongings. On the day that my Mam was evicted she was only given enough time to pick up her handbag and get the dog and leave, whilst the locks were changed, since then it has been almost impossible to arrange access to the house, this happened on the Monday morning and it wasn't until the Thursday of the same week we were able to get the Mortgage Company to arrange access so we could get clean clothes etc. It has been over a fortnight and we have been unable to get the Mortgage Company to arrange us access to remove our belongings, Furniture etc. We are having to call the Estate Agents to make arrangements with the Mortgage Company and keep being advised not only can we not speak to the Mortgage Company direct they are still trying to make arrangements for a 'housesitter' to be present while we move out. Do we have any rights with regards geting access in order to remove our possessions???
  3. I know this comes up a lot but any advice you could give me would really help. Due to financial difficulties my council tax fell into arrears. I have since found this forum which really helped me after I recieved a letter from a Bailiff saying I would need to call to arrange for a visit, I would pay 70 pounds then set up a payment pan, none of this was actioned as I had already followed the advice given on previous threads advising not to let them in, etc. I have since been paying the council online directly and ignored correspondence from Rossendales up until last week when I wrote to inform them that I would be paying the Council direct and the matter is currently in dispute as my Single Person's Discount was not applied and I am requesting to see if it can be backdated. I have arrived home to find a Bailiff Removal letter from them stating that Full payment is due in 24 hours and they would return to remove goods even in my absence. I have since re-written the letter I wrote to them to send in the post tomorrow morning and also emailed them the following I am contacting you with regards your Ref: ***, which is concerning the outstanding council tax arrears with Sedgefield Borough Council, their ref: ********. This is to advise that arrangements to pay the council directly have been made and two instalments successfully accepted by them under reference numbers ****** dated 12/03/09 amount £x and ***** dated 26/03/09 amount £x. I wrote to you over a week ago concerning this and outlining the fact that the matter was in dispute with the council due to a single persons discount not being applied to the account and in effect there is the possibility the incorrect amount has being requested by them, I am still awaiting correspondence from them on this matter and I have re-sent the letter to yourselves and will also send a duplicate copy when I am able to get to the Post Office so it can be sent recorded delivery for future reference regarding this matter as I assume it has not been received. Kind Regards I have kept copies of letters written and the email and will be continuing to pay the Council directly. I just wanted to be assured that what I am doing is okay and I am heading in the right direction Sorry to bore with all the details
