  1. so by my calculations the agreement has been overstated by £986.50. cab
  2. thanx m8. just to add a bit more confusion, the invoice also shows a delivery fee of £290.43 + 17.5% VAT and £145.25 RFL (road fund license) the odd thing there is that "delivery" anywhere within the uk is free, and all vehicles came with a minmum of 6 month free road fund license. cab

  5. would this be right, the deposit of £500 was not paid to the creditor it was paid to the dealer. should the £500 be included in the agreement (total amount payable TAP) and used to calculate the "APR" and "INTEREST" cab
  6. it is correct in the slightest. it is english law that forms the basis of contract law across the Commonwealth and influences international law, english courts cite other countries precedents / case law from the commonwealth. as do these countries that cite english law to achieve a precedent in the first place. dont write it off just because it was done in new zealand or south africa, as you say. civil law is all about being persuasive, "the best argument" usually wins. cab

  9. ok moving on. what i need to decipher now is, when is a "commission" a "secret commission" or a "bribe" ????? i have read wilson v hurstanger and jack v imageview, both are very interesting. would i be right in assuming that a commission regardless of how much and what for it must be disclosed. cab
  10. As they are part of the commonwealth I am certain this would be the same as our laws. English contract law is an influential body of law regulating the law of contract that operates in England and Wales. Its doctrines form the basis of contract law across the Commonwealth, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand contract law, India and South Africa, as well as the United States and the wider common law world. It also influences international law. cab
