  1. I have a gripe with Southern Water got behind last year and they defaulted me did pay it off but they refused to remove default. This years got behind and without any letters they have now added this years arrears to the existing default so gone from zero to £199 is this right can they just add future amounts to existing default? Have written to them and happy to pay the debt but not happy with their attitude.
  2. I think the whole process of default notices should be looked at. I understand if you get a CCJ it stays on your file for 6 years, but why have defaults for the same period of time and which even if paid off stay there. Surely they should be shorter in term or if paid off completely removed with in a lesser time. It gives no one a chance as the above mentioned of getting their house in order. A default serves no purpose to the company putting it on your file.
  3. I had sent the official letter and got a reply stating again that they cannot go back more than 6 years quote "I am also happy that GE Money has correctly advised that we will only review fees applied with in the last six years and any fees applied prior to Dec 2007 are now time barred under the Limitation Act 1980". As to the fees they quote " With regard to the suggestion that these fees do not represent the actual costs to Ge Money in respect of your breach. I would advise that these charges are in fact a genuine pre-estimates of the relevant costs and are valid as the circumstances are such that precise pre-estimates are not possible". They go on to say " I can assure you that we regularly provide the FCA with our tariff of fees and charges and they are satisfied the fees we charge are fair and in line with the related activities" Also they keep stating in any letters as far as they are concerned this matter is closed unless any new evidence is forth coming. any advice? people please I know my final throw of the dice l suppose is court action against them.
  4. Have had another letter regarding one months arrears saying they will pass to legal team and a charge of 375 pounds plus VAT will be added to my account
  5. Just had a letter from GE money and i quote 'I am also happy that Ge Money has correctly advised that we will only review fees applied with in the last six years and any fees applied prior to December 2007 are now time barred under the Limitation act 1980'
  6. I am having trouble with GE Moneyout taking me to court Admin charges 40 pounds etc and they have agreed to refund some of these but will not go back beyond dec 2007 saying it is time barred under the 'Limitation Act 1980' They have put my monthly charges up to cover interest on this charges so whilst struggling they are trying to burden me with greater monthly payments. Also getting letters stating a field agent will call and if not cancelled after 10 days of letter a 44 pound charge will be added and if he calls a 148 pound charge will apply, have informed that No one is to call at my property without my express invitation and any such charges will be disputed. I am not accepting this limited offer of refund l want all my charges back and the interest adjusted so l am paying the correct monthly payment. Also wishing that even when a few weeks behind with a monthly payment they woudl keep sending me threatening letters about taking me to court
  7. Is anyone still having issues with GE Money Mortgage? I have a mortgage with them and have got into arrears over the past couple of years due to being made redundant and becoming self employed . They recently took me to court for repossession when 3 months in a arrears however managed with some help from a friend pay them up to date to stop the court action. The main issue is that looking at the statement l got from them l have noticed a lot of extra charges and my monthly payment has risen more than once due to these. I have been charged various amounts for direct debit recalls from £2 to £25 every time l have been late with a payment l have been charged £40 admin charge plus some debt counselling charges when i have not received any debt counselling. The issue with these charges is that they are charging interest on them at that is why the monthly payment is rising that is on top of the extra interest charged for late payment. I have written to them to complain and to ask them to justify these charges especially the £40 admin fee which appears every month payment is late . So they are charging intertest on the mortgage interest on the late payment and interest on any other charges they apply. Is this one for the FCA .????/
  8. financial ombudsman and not started the subject access request as yet waiting on a reply to last letter to them
  9. I Have a couple months arrears but have been in contact with them and explained the situation, however they still charge £40 per month on late payment as well as the letter as explained above not fair - is not an adequate word to describe the so called help these companies offer. I have written to them and have asked for statements from the past six years and l will persue them for all unfair charges and will pass onto the FSA the letter detailing the charges on the field agent calling as they continue to breach any FSA regulations passed on them
  10. GE Money have sent me a letter saying they will send a field agent to my home and charge me £48 if I do not cancel this with in 10 days or if the field agent does visit they will charge me £144 , Such nice people are they not!!!!!!!!1
  11. anybody know there phone number as strangley none of their correspondence lists it.
  12. They have given me the choice of paying off loan or direct to me at the moment out of work so would prefer it coming to me. Still want to understand what reasons they can have to not contact me or settle some 7 weeks or more after letter upholding the claim.
  13. the original loan was with picture bought out by webb resolutions but the ppi element was sold and set up by loans.co.uk
  14. I have written to Loans.co.uk on 11th June claiming back PPI and interest they wrote back on 2nd july saying they were upholding my claim , l returned the form sent with the letter straight away. However i had heard nothing by the 12th august so sent a recorded delivery letter to the case manager but have still not heard anything, the loan is still live with another company but l want the monies owed paid direct to me. I am not sure what to do now as from the 2nd july to today 21st august with no response from them seems a long time anyone got advice?
  15. THis "telogram' company have not only phoned my neighbours but also have started writing to people in the area with the same surname. They are trying to make contact with my daughter who has gone to south africa and has been there since last october, we do not have direct contact with her and yes she has left some debt, we have contacted those companies we know about and told them that she is where she is.But this company is obviously disbelieving. Is what they are doing illegal and what steps are bets to take. I am aware they are breaking the data protection act but surely this even more serious that that? apppreciate any help

Hi Wondering if anyone has any dealings with this card company. They have replied to a claim with a letter that makes no sense what so ever. regards Mike
  20. Hi all Hopefully someone can help with this. I have had a letter back from MBNA offering some paltry amount. My question is they state in the letter "they will not amend any information on my credit file as my credit file reflects the previous late payments l have made". Can l force this issue about the credit file and if so how worded? many thanks Hope everyone is well and getting financially stronger. regards Mike
  21. Are the 3 pound a day charge for unauthorised overdraft unlawful charges? No other bank seems to fix this penalty so why the woolwich? The 3 pound a day is on top of normal interest charges.
  22. I was wondering if anyone knows the answer to this. My daughters have tried to phone up car loan companies and another financial institute to request a change of direct debit date to come out of their banks. Each time the companies have said yes but will charge 25 pound or higher to do this. Is this really allowed. They are just trying to keep the finances straight and avoid charges from their bank. The changes are for different date a few dyas later etc. I would be grateful for an answer, thanks..
  23. The woolwich are by far the worst of all the banks. 35 pounds charge for unpaid direct debits or returned cheques on top of that they are trying to charge 3 pound per day on unauthorised overdrafts no matter how much the overdraft is for. so a 1 pound overdraft would rack up 90 pound charges every month. who do they think they are putting people in greater debt for minor issues is downright criminal. I hope everyone who has a problem with the woolwich reports them to the financial and banking ombudsman. Barclays are taking them of the high street but they should be taken to task before that happens.
  24. Well done to Norwich & Peterborough Building society..... I sent a 14 day notice of court claim they write back saying that as l disagree with their policies etc that they are going to close my account with-in 30 days and will at that time refund 50% of the charges. I hope that l can take this tothe financial ombudsman and the OFT because this is just being vindictive to the extreme. They have now made me more determined to claim the whole lot from them. Anyone got any advice l will post the whole content of the letter if needed. regards
