  1. Hi Everyone, I have found this forum while searching for a similar problem to mine..... We bought a Toshiba LCD Digital TV in August 2007 from Amazon for just under £500. All has been fine until a few days ago. We can still watch DVDs and get analogue TV but no digital picture or sound. I can still get digital TV but only by plugging on our old set top box. i.e. it looks like the built-in digital tuner has gone caput. I found a similar thread on here from 2006 with regards to another Toshiba TV bought from Littlewoods, which passed away after 22 months. Ours is now 17 months old. I emailled Amazon with details of the problem and received a standard reply that the warranty is 12 months and as I had not reported a problem in this time then there is nothing they can do. They did provide details of Toshiba's contact details. I replied having read the other thread and quoted the Sale of Goods Act to them and stated that my contract was not with Toshiba but with Amazon and that the durability of this product should be far longer than 17 months. I also gave them 7 days to provide a satisfactory solution or a small claims action would be taken. I received the same standard response the following day. So where do I go from here? Do I just wait until the 7 days pass and take action. Do I need to put my request in writing rather than email? If I take legal action I assume I need a contact and address on which it should be served - does anyone know where I can get this? Thanks very much for reading this. Hopefully you will have some constructive advice for me...
