  1. Just wanted to write & say a big thanks to Lamma & Adamna - Barnet wrote to me yesterday to say that they had canceled the PCN notice!! They also mentioned that my comments about the conduct of the Civil Enforcement Officer would be forwarded to her manager; which is great, b/c she was awful! So again, a big thanks to you guys for your advice & support & also to Barnet Council for showing that you do have a heart!
  2. That is v. cool ! I'm going through something a little similar & this gave me hope Any way you could find that site? ...
  3. Thank you very much for taking the time... That's a big risk. I will send the letter by Special Delivery tomorrow & will update on Barnet's response. Hopefully, someone will have a heart & see that this was so very unfair... But I shan't hold my breath.
  4. Thank you very much for your reply. It didn't occur to me to get the information of the passers-by. I'm sure Barnet is very tough- afterall they're issuing £100 tickets, which is the most I've ever heard for a ticket from a council. I have put everything down on paper, but it all seems very long winded. I just don't understand how an attendant can issue a ticket for a couple of minutes stay.
  5. This evening (Sunday 18th January) I was issued a PCN notice whilst I could only stand in horror and watch. Basically at around 5:20 this evening, I stopped on a road in Barnet and went to pay at the meter. The meter read that I was outside of charging hours, so I went to read the sign. This said 9:30 am - 5:30pm pay at meter. Then underneath, it said Mon - Fri 9:30am - xpm Sat - Sun 9am - 10pm pay Residents permit parking only. Whilst reading this, I turned around when I saw a parking attendant slapping a ticket on my windscreen. SHOCKED I asked her what she was doing. She replied that I was parked in a residents space. I responded that I was here reading the sign. She claimed there was nothing she c(/w)ould do and that I would have to contest the ticket. Then she proceeded to take photos of my car. Completely gobsmacked, I just stood there in disbelief whilst passers by came to my aid. The attendant couldn't care less & walked off. I looked at the ticket and it was £100(!) for what couldn't have been more than 3/4 mins stopped. The ticket in fact says observed from 17:22 - 17:23, so she must have just been watching me... I feel sick & as a full time student, £100 (or £50 if paid in 2 weeks) is just so much money to just throw away. I am trying to pen a letter to Barnet, but I just don't know what to say... Please advise.
