  1. Hi all,.. I know this has been asked lots of time before but I cannot find the answer I am looking for in any of the old threads,. I know RBS and Nat West are pretty easy to get an account from with a few defaults on your file but living in norther ireland these accounts are not available to me.. Our local bank (Ulsterbank) which is owned by RBS/Nat does not seem to cater for the below average credit scored people needing to open a business account, Can anyone tell me if there are any plans for Ulster Bank to go down the route of its parent bank and offer a foundation account for business users,. TBH this would be my Bank of choice as My personal account is with them and Out of the lot I have heve been in my time I prefair most.. I am also open to suggestions of other banks (Available to me in NI) who would be willing to offer me a business current account with bad credit history.. Lastly I do not need any credit facilities etc,. just a basic business account with a debit card that I can pay cheques wrote to my business into Thanks in advance
  2. Hi,. Long time since i posted on here but here goes,.. I am self employed and have wholesale accounts with a few different electrical suppliers. Last week I came home to a letter from the local court about an account i had a few years back that is owing £700. Basically I have until november sometime to either pay the balance in full or contest the summons.. Now I have a few probs,. 1st the account with the place in question,. I had a disagreement with the owner,.. I had bought a lot of stuff but the wrong items where delivered,. these where returned but they never came of the account,. each month when my bill came in the cost of the items where still on the bill,. I pulled them up on this and they said they would take them of the next bill.. 2nd, each month when i received my invoice it was hand written,. half the time i had no idea what i had bought as the invoices where illegible and I just paid the money,.. I ended up loosing patience with them and started using a different supplier and never when back near them.. The £700,. which is on the court letter,.. basically I know I owe them money, but as I said above returns where never credited to the account and in reality it is about 300-400 which is owed. I would just like some advice about what to do next,. Part of me is saying contest this and pay the fee as although I owe them money it is only about half of what they are telling the court i owe them,. Then, another part of me is saying "hang on a minute" this letter from the court is addressed to a person that doesnt exist.. Yes although I am known by one christian name (have been since i was a child) it is not the christian name on my birth certificate. What I am thinking is,.. If I ignore this can it go down on my credit file although it is address to a non existant person,. What would others do in this situation.. ? One last thing,.. this isnt my fault or something I have tried to do to defraud, the wholesales in question was made fully aware of my real name when the account was opened,. It just happens that I am known more by a nickname that my official name.. It should also be noted that I spent 10`s of 000`s in the few years prior to the disagrement with them and the £700 amount is pretty trivial compaired to what I actually did pay them (In other words, i did not open an account,. get a lot of stuff and disappear,. I had this account 2-3 years before I defaulted on it,. and it was paid in full each month) Thanks in advance for any replies or help
  3. Thanks Victoria. I will just wait until I get PoA and make them an offer. I dont think There is a lot they can do about it tbh, We are willing to repay the debt, but unless they can put a freeze on the interest we could be paying it forever. Hopefully when the PoA comes through they will be understanding about the situation and will set up a repayment agreement. I will post back with updates as to how it goes
  4. Hello all, I am looking some advice on behalf of my mother. My mum is severly disabled with multiple sclerosis and is now at the stage where she need full time care 24/7. My Father was her main carer at home until recently when he passed away. He was also her appointee and took control of her finances, welfare and state pensions due to her disabilities. Since my father`s death I have applied to become the appointee and am still awaiting on this being approved. A few things have now changed, since my fathers death my mum is now in full time care at a care home and her benefits have changed because of this. She had a couple of credit cards, the main one being with MBNA (£7500) and another with with halifax (£2500), I Know my dad had been paying these off for her but he had been paying the interest each month and some months a little more if he had it. Now that my mum is in care her benefits have changed and I have been working things out as to what she get, the cost of care and living and the credit cards can no longer can no longer be afforded. I have tried ringing the MBNA and Hal to come to some sort of arrangement if they could freeze the interest and we could pay them back a smaller amount each month until they are cleared, but as I am not yet my mums appointee they will not talk about the account with myself. I am just wondering what my options are, Its not that we do not want to pay this, Its the fact that what is left over from my mums state benefits and dla etc is not enough to cover the interest, let alone begin to start repaying the 10,000 which is owed. Any advice on this matter is greatly appreciated. One last thing, By becoming my mothers nominated appointee will these debts be passed onto myself? I know I have an obligation to look after my mums welfare with her money etc but could these companies start persuing myself for this as I am a bit worried that by becoming appointee I might be inheriting £10,000 worth of debt. I got into debt myself when I was younger and dont want the same to happen again. Thanks to anyone that can help in advance. Thank you
