  1. Thank you. I will try that. hopefully I will get a more helpful customer service person this time.
  2. Hi I have tried to find specific information on this but so far been unsuccessful. I have had an orange phone and broadband package for over 4 years - I have never renewed my initial 1 year contract but just allowed it to roll on. I had no complaints so stayed with them. However I am now moving house and no longer need this service and want to terminate it completely. I am not in the middle of a contract but they are demanding a £30 disconnection fee. The exceptionally unhelpful customer services informed me that I could transfer my account to another service provider for free but to leave the service completely would incur a charge. so my question is:- is this normal? is it allowed? do I have to pay it? many thanks in advance for any information on this.
  3. There was no yellow line when i parked and hasnt been for the last 18 months as i (and others) have parked in this area without trouble. there were no notices posted unless they went up a few days before the lines were painted. I am looking into the TRO now, Thank you for your help.
  4. Hello everyone and a thank you in advance. a friend sent me this link as I was on the verge of panic, struggling to get advice (local CAB closed down due to lack of funding) reading some of the threads i am hoping someone can help me find the information i need. as briefly as possible: Just before Christmas I returned to the place I have parked my car regularly, for the last 18 months, at the adjacent road to mine, to find it had been removed and single yellow lines painted in its place. As I had not visited the car for about a week I don't know at what time since l last saw it that this happened. (I panicked and did nothing at the time as I was going to the car to visit friends for Christmas so had to make alternative arrangements. - In hindsight this was foolish but I think I went into 'Christmas panic head in sand' mode ) Returning after Christmas I called DVLA to see if they had any information on where it might be, they said they had no report if it being towed. I then called my council pound who told me the date it had been removed and said i needed to pay £840 to release the car as well as pay any charges for a PCN. I was shocked by this so i called my council parking services and a very helpful lady gave me a time scale of events. which are below: 19 Dec 08 - car taken 24 Dec 08 - first address check (by NCP services) 29 Dec 08 - contacted DVLA 02 Jan 09 - first notice letter written / dated 07 Jan 09 - first notice letter post marked 08 Jan 09 - letter received 09 Jan 09 - expiry date for response to date I have not received a PNC I am currently trying to find out when the yellow lines were painted, I have also written to (and emailed) my council parking with a complaint and requesting photographs to prove that I was in violation of a parking restriction as well as requesting (if it was issued) a PCN so I can start an appeal. as well as writing to my local MP's. so my question is: - I am aware that I need legal advice but I don't know where to get it, I have tried a local helpline but received no response. I also don't know if my council are obliged to notify me of 1/ changes in parking policy. 2/parking violations 3/removal of cars. I also want to know if I have a case to protest against the pound taking 21 (charging) days to notify me. I don't want to pay this fee and want them to return my car to me
