  7. Thank you for replying I had a credit card account with Halifax, Alliance & Leicester, Capital One and Lloyds & two loans. When my wife became ill & could not work I got behind with payments. I wrote to all my creditors with an income & expenditure spreadsheet & offered to pay what I could. They all accepted my offers; Halifax passed the account on to a company called Blair Oliver & Scott. My wife got better (thank God) but I lost two jobs in quick succession, we have kept to all the payment schedules & have managed to pay off some of the smaller debts, mortgage arrears & personal loans. Just before Christmas I received a letter from ….. Informing me that 1st Credit would be managing the account & I was asked to ring them A.S.A.P. This was a difficult phone call; they were very different to anything we had encountered before. They threatened to take me to court & put charging order against our house (our only asset) unless I paid in excess of £3,000 immediately (half the debt). They told me to borrow the money from friends. We have not claimed back any bank or credit card charges. We don’t want borrow any more money, we will pay our debts but we cannot manage large amounts. Thank you
  8. Hi We have an issue with Halifax, which has been passed on to 1st Credit We have read many posts on this site and can see the outstanding work that has been done - but we need help. We presently have a voluntary DMP with all our creditors who have understood our position but out of the blue our arrangement with Halifax has been passed to 1st Credit – they don’t seem to want to negotiate. We have read as much as possible about this lot & we need to be prepared. please help
