  1. Hi, I hope someone can help with my problem - I've been researching this but can't get a definite answer on my particular problem. Looks as if Acer&Comet are not a great mix!!! I've got a 5month old Acer pc which is dead (BSOD). I took it back to Comet the other week and they sent it away to Acer for "repair". Collected it yesterday and was told Acer had replaced the hard drive. So, I plugged the machine in and lo and behold, exactly the same thing happened as before (blue screen/won't boot up etc.). Appears as if it hasn't been repaired at all. I rang Comet and asked for a replacement machine. Very unsurpringly they are claiming to have absolutely no responsibility for the item and said I can only deal with Acer (something about an Acer technician having to 'verify' the pc is faulty before being allowed to refund or replace it). Comet say they aren't allowed to replace any PCs without Acer authorising it first. They say it's highly unlikely I will get a replacement and that it must be repaired again. I am a phd student and the lack of pc at home is an extreme inconvenience (not to mention my faith in Acer repair is fading fast). Am I entitled to ask Comet for a replacement under the Sales of Goods Act, considering the machine has already been for repair and still has the same fault? Thanks in advance
