  1. Many thanks Sea-sidelady. Is it best to fill out the MCOL or the NI form. I am going to ring Barclaycard early this afternoon before I proceed to court proceedings. I also need to mention to them about the fact they sent me somebody elses statements including my own. I will post this afternoon.fingers crossed!!
  2. Monument have offered my half as well and are saying they will not refund all of the charges as they do not agree blah blah blah. They have said at the end of their letter that if I am not happy to contact the Financial Ombudsman and that they would prefer to resolve before it got to this stage.. Has anybody got any advice on what I should do now. Should I ring them and accept half and say that I will pursue the rest in court. The problem I have is that I had a credit limit for £250 and went over it and most of my balance was made up of overlimit fees. Two months ago I paid them my balance of £250 along with my minumum payment but the balance still went up.Now I owe them £320 made up of overlimit fees. Can anybody advise on the next steps. Should I just ring them and say close my account down as it is made up of overlimit fees or claim the money that is due to me. Many thanks
  3. Hi MCPR Where did you send your letters do originally as the best place to send them to is Barclaycard PO Box 599 Manchester M60 3NF Alternatively, give them a call on 0161 2007476 and speak with Carl Nuttall. I have to say that they are very pleasant to deal with as I was waiting for a response from them and I contacted the number above yesterday and a very nice man Mark Makin advised me to fax through my correspondence and he would deal with it from there. Good luck Nancies
  4. Hi All I am having the same problems with Barclaycard as received my statements 6 months after requesting them and spoke to Carl Nutall who on 3 occasions told me he was putting them in the post. They finally arrived on the 14 December and I am now claiming charges back for being over my agreed credit limit. THis all started back last year when I cancelled my dd and asked them to reinstate it for the following month which they assured me they would do and is still to be done hence my balance keeps going up although I did keep making payments. Now it is £428 over agreed credit limit. I contacted Mr Nuttall in November who agreed to set up a dd and I am paying £40 a month until 1 July. I also received a letter from them on the 10 January with the following "We note your efforts to bring your account up to date and as a one off gesture of goodwill, we have waived the remianing arrears on your account. This will not reduce your outstanding balane, however, your next statement will ask for your normal minimum payment without arrears. As your balance is over the agreed credit limit, you may be contacted separately and your next minimum payment will include the over limit amount. We hope our actions have helped you-please continue to pay in accorance with your monthly statements to keep your account in order. Your sincerely Adrian Davies Manager-Barclaycard Can someone please explain what this means, does this mean they are refunding me all my late fees. I would like to send and LBA letter and state in it that I would like to settle this before going to court. Can you advise on the wording so I can include a paragraph stating that they have paid out to other customers before going to court. THanks for all your help with this website. Its fantastic Any help would be appreciated. Nancies Can someone advise me on what to do from here???????????
  5. Thanks for that. No there was no mention of amounts, just a random letter which is exactly what I typed. 3 months ago they randomly credited £120 into my account before I even got my statements. Im really confused over what to do, should i deduct the £120 from my charges and then send the LBA letter asking for it back or should I just give them a call. I havent had these problems with MBNA and I am nearly there with getting a result.Barclay card just dont seem to know what they are doing. Any more advice. Thanks

  8. Tanzarelli/bill-k Can you please help me work out compound or contractual interest. The spreadsheets do not make sense to me and I dont want to make mistakes.Would either of you email me a simple spreadsheet or guide me in the right direction. I am trying to claim nearly £500 worth of Over limit fees from Barclaycard. I have spoken direct with carl Nutall at Barclay card. It has taken them 6 months to send me my statements and have even asked me to send a £10 cheque x2 as they did not receive my first one but they were both cashed on the 5&6 September. Please help, Im not very good with figures. Thank you so much. Nancies
  9. Thanks for that Bong, do you have any ideas how I can get my statements from them if they are not responding?
  10. I am getting nowhere with Barclaycard. I requested copies of my charges issuing them with SAR request. I then got a letter back stating I had a total of £120 in charges. They cashed two cheques for £10 each for the statements but have yet to receive them. They then credited me £120 to my account and ignored my request. This has been going on since August and I have still not received my statements. What should I do. I know I need to complain them to the Information Commissioner but I am unable to get a figure of charges as they are ignoring my letters but they keep leaving messages on my answermachine to contact them which I refuse to do as my account is gone over the agreed credit limit because of all the charges and I dont know what else to do? Please help
  11. Thanks all for you ongoing help. Does anybody have an email address for Paul Miney. THanks Nancies

  13. I have just received a letter from MBNA this morning (Rachel Claridge) offering me a Goodwill payment of £160 which is less than half of what was charged (£362.00 in total charges) and included in the letter was the usual chat about charges are fair and is part of my agreement. I know that I can now sent the LBA letter requesting full payment but how do I calculate the compound interest on £362?. Also, is it best to send an email or ring them. I would appreciate any help as your thread has given me confidence in getting back my charges. Kind regards
  14. I sent my Non Compliant letter to Barclaycard on the 19 October giving them 7 days before I Seek a court order and have not had a response but they are ringing me up to 6 times a day leaving messages to contact them. I am now afraid that they will default my account as I am making monthly payments but as I am now gone over my credit limit because of the charges, I dont know what to do as they seem to be ignoring my letters. Can someone please help.
