  1. I've been very head in sand about this. I received something from the court saying that a charge had been put on my property last This was in October last year. I thought OK fair enough I owe the money and beleived it would only be enforced if I sold my property. I received a paper from the courot about 3 weeks ago headed 'Final charging order, which i presumed was just a update of the original I received. I then received a letter from HLCF's solicitors as follows: "You will be aware that our client has obtained a final charging order, a copy of which we enclose. We understand the sum of £5,821 plus court costs remain outstanding. We have been instructed to make a application to the court for an order of sale." I then e mailed the solicitor and proposed a payment of £150 per month. This was refused yesterday. I do not have any documentation regarding the original loan or the court documents from last year.
  2. I had a barclays premier account and took out a unsecured load of £7,000 which I paid by standing order for approximately 2 years untill barclays closed my account and moved it to a ordinary barclays account which I still have. When they did this my standing order for the load was cancelled and I never heard from Barclays Premier again. Just over a year ago I was contacted by HLCF who told me they were going to put a charge on my property which I understood to mean that if I sold the property they would receive their money. I received a letter last week from HLCF's solicitors last week saying that they had obtained a final charging order and unless I pay the full amount within 7 days they would apply to court for a order of sale. I contacted the solicitor and offered to pay £150 a month. This has been refused. Anyone have any advise what I should do next please?
  3. \i took out a loan with Barclays (Premier Account) around 11 years ago. I paid my loan by standing order each monnth for about 2 years. As I was always over my overdraft limit barclays premier decided to close my account and moved me to a ordinary Barclays account and cancelled my standing order for my loan. I did not thing from hear any thing from Barclays Premier ever again. Just over a year ago I was contacted by a firm of debt collecters (HLCF) they informed me that they were putting a charge on my property for the loan amount (£5821). I understood this to mean that when I sold my flat they would be paid back. Last week I was sent a letter by their solicitors saying that they had received a final charging order and unless they receive their money within 7 days they would apply to the court for sale of my property. I have contacted the solicitor and offered to pay £150 a month and this has been refused. Can anyone suggest what I should do next. Am feeling really scared and emotional at the moment
  4. The loan was a bank loan with Barclays Premier about 10 - 11 years ago. The bank closed my premier account and moved it to a normal current account and cancelled the standing order which at that stage was up to date. I then never received any further correspondence regarding this until I received the letter from HLCF. I don't recall receiving a CCJ. Just a notice advising me that a charge had been put on my property and the money would be given to HLFC when I sold the flat
  5. I have received a letter from a Solicitor acting on behalf of HLCF. They say they have obtained a final charging order against my property and will be applying to the courts for a order of sale. I have mad a offer to pay £150 per month and this has been refused and will proceed unless they get the full amount within 7 days. Can any one please help me
