Hi, this is reply received The council ordinance is published on the University Website and in the student handbooks therefore it is the students responsibility to make sure that the are aware of the regulations. The student should immediately settle this charges or make arrangements otherwise we shall pursue with legal actions on this matter.

Thank you very much spam, he has called the DCA and raised your two points: Who is collecting any monies and the reasons behind the liability A copy of the signed agreement in which this clause is stipulated Apparently the person on the phone didn't know the answers and said please email in why you are disputing the debt, which he has done. Will update as soon as he updates me. Thanks again!

Hi all, This is on behalf of a friend. In 2006 he enrolled into a University, he attended the enrolement week but never attended after that. Now the Uni has instructed a debt collection agency to collect £300 from him. He contacted the Uni and they said if a student drops out in week 1 - 4 then they have to pay 10% of the yearly fee (£3000 per year) and according to their records my friend un-enrolled in October (first or second week in). Can anybody help, as he has 7 days to pay this. If this is in the wrong section (I'm sorry) and please feel free to move it. Thanks, Sarah
