  1. income benefit? Do you mean working tax credit? You can only get this if you or your partner works more than 16 hours per week. So yes in theory if you declare yourself bankrupt following the loss of employment you will lose the working element of tax credits. Having said that, there is help available from other sources, ie department for work and pensions, jobcentre etc etc, obviously alot is means tested, but some arent.
  2. bump please help people, I have read a few other threads on hp agreements, but non actually specific to welcome. I have a few hints and tips but would greatly appreciate some guidance.
  3. i have just discovered that if you explain niceley that you have a problem ith your bank account and it is not currently accepting payments. Both Child tax credit and child benefit will temporarily send you a giro cheque which can be cashed at a post office. My husband has just been declared bankrupt and that is currently how we are being paid.
  4. ACAS is brilliant by the way, they will tell you all you need to know. Please dont worry, it will all come right in the end. Why dont you go, but insist that due to past events you feel it would be better to have someone with you.
  5. you may not have the statutory right to be accompanied but you do have the right to have someone else their...... you can bet your employer will, be it the assistant manager or some one else. it may well be an investigatory meeting but dont be rail roaded. Are you part of a union? use them if you are. At least you are till on full pay, thats one less stress for now. As for employment rights, have you worked there for more than 12 months straight thru? Ie not quit for a bit and then gone back? Oh, and please dont worry about your baby, I am recovering from a mental breakdown and my children are still with me. he/she will not be taken from you:):)
  6. bump post should be about soon... my situation slightly different but the result is the same... chin up, they cant be allowed to get you down
  7. so how do i play it? do i insist that they continue with voluntary termintion or wait to see what they do?
  8. Hi All Hopefully you can help me, dunno if im on the right page or not!!!! I have a two year old hire purchase agreement with approx 9 months left to run. unfortunately this year has been a financial nightmare for us with my husband being mde bankrupt approx 2 months ago and his file is still being dealt with by official receivers, i have approx 6 months worth of arrears on the account now. I have requested a voluntary termination with welcome. They told me that it would take approx 5 weeks to process and organise an inspection and recovery of the vehicle. I today received a phone call and I quote. "We are suspending your request for voluntary termination and are issuing a notice of default with a view to court proceedings". Please help as I have already admitted owing them money by a written request for termination. I dont know what to do. very concerened cagger.
  9. fight them.... It took a while but I finally have a court order, forcing Redstone ( Skipton Group) to pay out........ Deadline is tomorow........ After all the fun.... i am not holding my breath. But if more of us fight and make enough noise, surely someone in the right place will start to take note....
  10. bump........ Not sure about that one....... difficult one that.......... we shall have to see what Ell-en or the other guys come up with.... They'll be about soon enough.
  11. aaah well.. thats where the fun starts....... we cannot get a straight response from any of them......... redstone refer us to their solicitor, who refer us to redstone, who send me to the home repo team, who send me to my own solicitor and the game starts again......... Hence we refiled in court..... Just an update on that one.... they have started offering us "out of court settlements" again... solicitor advises against it, due to past performance, but they are suddenly being nicey nice again.... Thanks Wales for ever....... all support appreciated!!!
  12. solicitor apparently got email stating dates, times and reference numbers for the transfer.
