  1. Yes, that's what I said in post 80! That I'm glad to be reassured that the worst case scenario of a SLC claim "wouldn't be anything serious at all nor affect anything else like jobs family global financial status." Thanks! I understood what you said in post 79
  2. Do you mean that doing nothing could have an impact on my family's security?
  3. Ah sorry, what have I misunderstood? I thought you said that even if there was a SLC, 'it wouldn't be anything serious at all nor affect anything else like jobs family global financial status.' I was reassured by that and said that I would update my address when I moved. what have I got wrong?
  4. Yes, I'm a total panic merchant so thanks for your patience! I will change my address with them, and everyone else. It's very very reassuring to have you say this will not affect my family's financial security. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.
  5. I'm a pretty anxious person, so every time I get a new letter, it sets off a panic. I've read so many threads here and you've given me lots of advice over the past year, which I very much appreciate. I just want it dealt with. I worry that they'll somehow get me when our family is in crisis as we have very precarious jobs and my partner's health will always be in the balance. What I've taken away from reading and your advice is: 1. I'm in Scotland, so you can't get a back door CCJ and they have my up to date address anyway. 2. They are unlikely to ever take this to court as they can get plenty money through their current processes of intimidation and lying. 3. If they did take me to court, it's your experience that they would.have no success. 3. When I reach the point that my loans would have been written off (in about 4 years), I'm still not clear what will happen. Will I have to live with this hanging over me forever? 4. I still can't figure out what the worse case scenario is, so it feels overwhelming.
  6. Ok thanks for your response. Is it best to simply ignore and get on with my life or is there any action i should be taking?
  7. Hi, I got a bunch of notice of sums in arrears. Everything is now in arrears, even though I've sent in deferments since. How can this be?! Does it make any difference? Is there any way of getting out of arrears?
  8. Thanks for taking the time to reassure me. Ok, I'll wait until Feb 2023. I was planning on sending now as my usual deferrment was every Aug, but I'll do as you say. Thanks again
  9. Ok, I will defer every year from now on. However, as discussed earlier in the thread, I've already admitted to not deferring, in writing, explaining the extenuating circumstances leading to that (briefly), as advised. I've collected, but not submitted to Erudio, evidence as to why I didn't defer (as discussed here too). I suppose I can't do anything about that now. Thanks for your patience and help.
  10. Ok, so I just set my own reminder and defer every year using SLC forms? The reason I'm asking is that even when I sent the backdated forms earlier this year, nothing happened and I've not been deferred. My thinking was to defer every August as I did before
  11. I've read through my thread. It's not clear to me if I should defer every August or not? Sorry for being so unsure.
  12. Do you mean I should go to fos if they do not put my account back into deferral?
  13. Hi, when I check my credit files myself, it's not showing. However, I can see some discussions on mumsnet saying Erudio marked their credit files when in arrears. If you're saying that doesn't happen, that's great. I wondered if credit and mortgage providers had access to more into than what shows on your own credit file. When I send off my next batch of deferrals, should I ask why my account has not been put back into deferral now I've provided them with payslips to cover the whole period when I didn't defer? I want this written off. I was due to have it written off in 2023, but they said this will not happen unless I pay the 'arrears'. They don't send me deferral forms now, likely because it's in arrears. I'm printing off and using the old SLC ones.
  14. Hi, I've been supported here before. I forgot to defer to Erudio due to extenuating circumstances for some two years. I submitted late deferral forms in Feb 2022, but have still not been put back into deferral and get sent regular notices of sums in arrears. Advice from dx on this site is to ignore and let it run. However, I currently have a credit application in. Will the fact the account is in arrears affect my ability to get credit or a mortgage etc? Should I send in annual deferrals despite the fact they are not acknowledged?
