    Guv999 Vs MBNA

I am after some advice re credit card debt with the MBNA The card has a balance of approx £8000 There are currently no arrears on the card, but I am finding it increasingly hard to pay the monthly minimum payments of approx £110 I have received the CCA, but it could be a while before I can scan it up - it is just an application form with some of the prescribed terms popped on the back - there is no credit limit listed at all. As a bit of background I live in Republic of Ireland, and have done for 6 years. I know that they cannot obtain a CCJ against me as I am outside of the UK, or impact my Irish credit rating I know until I scan up the CCA there is not a lot of feedback people can offer in terms of the enforceability. I have noted on the application form that I signed up for PPI. Would it be worth while attempting to reclaim charges, as no where on the application form does it advise that I could obtain this cover from other providers? It was completed in Dec 1998, and I know that I did subsequently cancel this cover, but do not recall when. They also kindly attached a copy of the original T & C's which mention a late payment fee of £15. I know that I was charged £25 a number of times - albeit in the last 6 years, again is there any point in trying to reclaim these? Really appreciate any help with this.
  2. Hi All I am after some advice re credit card debt with the Co-Op The card has a balance of approx £8000 It is ex Northern Rock There are currently no arrears on the card, but I am finding it increasingly hard to pay the monthly minimum payments of approx £160 I have received the CCA, but it could be a while before I can scan it up - it is just an application form with none of the prescibed terms at all - indeed I have seen identical ones on these forums previously As a bit of background I live in Republic of Ireland, and have done for 6 years. I know that they cannot obtain a CCJ against me as I am outside of the UK, or impact my Irish credit rating At this point I am wanting to set up an arrangement to pay with them as follows: Offer to pay them £60 per month, and have further interest suspended and account closed Anyone advise or input would be really appreciated, indeed if you feel my approach is naive would love some feedback. Thanks for any help
  3. Both CCA's received today. Both look incomplete to me, I will be setting up threads in the relevant bank forums now - thanks for your help.
  4. Hi As an update, I sent both CCA requests registered post and am aware that they were received on the 9th and 10th September. To date I have received no response. As I understand it the normal process is that I should receive a reply within 12 days. Whilst I know that this time frame is expired, I know that in my instance I am reliant on the international post. Based on normal delivery schedule of 5 days for mail from the UK I would say that once I reach the 30th I should be okay to send follow up correspondence. Has anyone else had similar experience? Thanks for any advice
  5. Hi I currently owe the following credit card debt to UK credit card companies: MBNA - £8200 - account opened approx 1998 Co-Op - £8000 - account opened 2001 (with Northern Rock who passed over to Co-Op later. At present there are no arrears on either account, but I am finding it increasingly difficult to meet minimum re-payments and ideally want to make an arrangement to pay below the minimum monthly repayment with them. I also want to be well aware of the implications of doing so and anything that may help me when dealing with the banks. Could either company add details onto my Irish Credit rating? Would it be recommended that I obtain a SAR's for the accounts prior to requesting the payment arrangement to verify how enforceable the CCA's are? Thanks for any guidance
  6. Hi - I hope someone can offer some advice on this. I owe approx £15000 across 2 credit cards. I have reached a situation whereby the only way I can pay the minimum re-payments each month is to actually use them for food shopping/petrol etc and pay with money allocated for that budget. One CC company, MBNA has in the last week increased the interest rate from 15.9% to 23.9% - nearly adding 50% to my minimum payment! At this stage I will need to pay approx £250 per month the meet the minimum repayments. It was £200 previously prior to MBNA increasing the interest rate. I have recently had some good news and have been promoted at work and have a good pay increase. I live outside of the UK, and believe that I can pay them a total of €200 per month (rougthly £140/£150) from my own pocket and close the accounts down, aside from financing the minimum repayments I have not used either card for time. Further I will request that interest is suspended and no further charges applied. Has anyone else had success with these type of proposal? I have read a number of points around CCA's and will certainly investigate my own situation, once I have something firmly in place with the Credit Card Companies around repayments
