  1. OK time for some advise. I had an accident on the m6 in jan 2007. A car hit me in the rear while i was stationary. I was in a transit connect van. As luck would have it there was only slight damage to the bumper. I exchanged details with the driver who admitted fault. I then went on my way then stearted to feel pain in my neck and back so went to the hospital to get checked over. The hospital said i had soft tissue damage to neck and back. I received pain medication while at the hospital. I saw my gp who agreed with the hospital an signed me of work and perscribed pain relief. I was signed off work a total of 11 weeks and i was seeing a chiropractor. I put a claim into the insurance company for the whiplash and loss of earnings. I have seen medical doctors for my insurance company and the othersides insureance company. The thing is that i recieved an offer of £2500 which i refused and today i recieved an offer of £4250. These offers do not even cover the cost of the cost of my lost wages. This is a part 36 offer which my no win no fee solictors recommends to accept. Is this the solictor just wanting there fee or can anybody on the forums offer any other advice?
  2. Thanks for the help. I don't mind if they give me a loan and i would pay it back when i am working. Just seems no one knows in the job centre.
  3. Hi wonder if someone can help. I lost my job as a gas engineer, not my fault. i am on jsa and my acs has now run out meaning i can no longer work on gas without taking exams again. This has to be done every 5 years. The thing is i am in no position to pay for this at the moment and i was wondering if any grants or funding is available. Thanks for any advice.
  4. Hi i am after some advice please regarding lowell group. I received about £300 of bank charges with hsbc that i disputed. They then sold the debt to lowell group. I told lowell ,yes i did owe the bank money but was not paying there Bank charges and i owed them £55. I agreed to pay this and instructed the person that i will pay no more as the rest are made up of bank charges. I am know being hounded with letters from red, lowell and hamptons threating court action. I am hounded with phone call although i told them not to contact me by phone. They even sent a letter saying i had the benifit of spending the money and so i should repay it. I have now received a letter from Hamptons stating they may take me to court and then costs and interest will be asked for. They have also put a mark on my credit file even though it was for bank charges.
  5. basc members can get 50 to 75% off the cost of drugs for there pets. I know basc is for shooting, but if you have a pet with a cronic illness it may be worth joining.
  6. hi I am having problems with lowell after hsbc sold a debt to them. Hsbc paid direct debits total £50 and them hammered me with charges totaling £350. This was a business account and i was not working at the time and explained that i could not pay them. Anyway hsbc closed the account and then sold the debt. I then get a call from lowells saying they have marked my credit file and i explaine to them that my debt to the hsbc was £50 and not the ammount that they was after, as it was made up of unfair bank charges. I also explained that i don't mind paying the debt i owe but not the rest of the charges as i was disputing them. Lowell then said Pay the £50 and they would go back to hsbc. I said that this mean that i do not admit liabilty to tthe rest of the debt. the girl at lowells said they would put this on the system. so after that i am now be hounded by lowells, i told them to contact me letter and not phone me, They have marked my credit file with a disputed debt. They have sent me a letter with a statement showing a lower balance but not the payment i made. Any advice on how to move forward with this please?
  7. hi to the forum members. I had a business account with hsbc set up as a sole trader. I struggled with the business as no work coming in and they paid a direct debit to the princes trust for a start up loan when i had no money in the account. although it was for £50 they have put the charges on even though i spoke to them and told them i was in no position to pay. i was in financial problems and the hsbc has closed the account and sold the debt to lowells, I explained to lowell that i owed the £50 and would pay this but the rest was in dispute. Lowells accepted this but stupid me did not understand that this ment that lowells would hound me for £295 of charges and they have credit blacklisted my file over this. so the question is how do i go about claiming the charges? can Lowells put a mark on my credit file when a debt is in dispute? is there any letters that i should send to hsbc I am on job seekers at the moment so could i claim under the financial hardship rule? thanks for any help that the forum can provide.

  9. that's what i thought but the employment adviser at c a b said its not a crimminal matter when i asked if i should go to the police.
  10. I have seen a copy of the doccument. I would of remembered if i had signed it and i would of kept a copy myself. I have looked very closely at the signed copy and its not my signiture. I have even asked friends and family to compare the signitures and they all agree its not mine, it looks like they have tried to trace it because its not a fluid signiture.
  11. hi i hope some one can advise. I took my former employer to the tribunal in jan and won my case. My employer never followed the grievence proceedure as i was unfairly selected for lay off. It was proved that my company use this so called clause in the contract of employment to get rid of people they no longer want. I also complained in writing to my employer that i had never recieved a contract of employment or written statement. this was done in july 08. They could not produce a contract of employment to the tribunal or bring the director who was adament i had signed a contract. I then recieved a letter about 7 weeks later from the companys solictors stating that they have suddenly found a contract of employment that i have signed and could i admit that it was my signiture. I contacted the cab who have been advising me as i knew this was not my signiture. I wanted to go to the police as i thought this was fraud but the cab told me this was not a criminal matter. I then contacted the tribunal for advice and was told that the solictors had put in request for a review / appeal. The company had sent me part of the contract stating lay off in responce to my grievence letter in july which states. If there is a shortage of work for whatever reason the company will endeavour to maintain continuity of employment wherever possible by placing people on short time or laying them off without pay. in such circumstances as much advance notice as can reasonable be given, will be if, in the company opinion it becomes necessary to do so. The letter saying i was being layed off was dated on the 9th june 08 which was a monday and i was called into the office and informed i was being layed off on the friday 13th 08. If i had signed a contract of employment then i would of taken them for breach of contract. The firm i worked for said at the tribunal i still worked for them this was towards the end of jan but i recieved a p45 in april 09 that states my employment ended on jan the second. The company i worked for are liars and i need some advice to help me at this tribunal review. I am still unemployed and don't know what to do next. I cannot afford a solictor so will be doing it myself at the tribunal. Thank you to any one who can advise
