  1. Meant to say also, I will keep the monthly payment and send them a payment by post or by debit card. Last thing I need is this to go further into the stink lol
  2. Yeah I agree We will go along to the bank in the morning and cancel it till we resolve it. They said they were not taking it till 28th or shortly after so this give me plenty time. I have just been doing comparisons on USwitch and based on my consumption in kWh according to my Bill and estamating up till this December which gives me the full year usage.... I can save £300 on what I am and will be using and my monthly payments would be around £120 which I can increase to, actually I can afford to go to £140. hmmmm
  3. Hello Everyone Hopefully someone can help me here! We moved into this house last December to both Electricity and Gas supplied by NPower. We happily had Scottish Power before but since NPower supplied here we decided to stay with them. I set up monthly payments of £100 for both on their duel fuel! In January we got an estimated statement that put us in credit but to check all was ok I checked their reading against the meters and found them to be underestimating by a fair bit. I called them up to say I was concerned as going by the readings we are due them much more and I thought there was a problem. I felt the gas was using loads and we hardly had it on...actually we were scared to blooming use the thing. I was reassured that all was fine and that it was due to higher charges in the winter and the rates go down over the summer and it would work its way out. I was told I would have no big bill and I explained that I would hope not as we are on state benefits and would never be able to meet such. Fast forward to now, I have came back to the house this morning to a statement telling me we are £543.07 in debt and that the next payment from the bank they will be taking not £100 but £257.00!!!! Its Sunday and I can not call them but have emailed them to get in contact ASAP Now there is no way that I will have that kind of monthly payment by next week or even every month after that. What are my options here? what is the best way to approach this? I have calculated that we have been using around £33 per week on both by their actual readings. Could I then suggest a standing order for £140 every 4 weeks to cover the extra reducing the bill very slightly to ensure this debt doesnt rise or is that unacceptable or non advisable. Really at a loss here and feel blooming cheated by their dont worry attitude then this Any help would be fully appreciated :-| Thanks in advance Ryan
  4. Good Point Lefty I have edited my post a little
  5. I sent this off today after more harassment on Friday And got this very swiftly which I thanked them for
  6. Huge thanks for the Email address, I think I will just do that. I have been reading your thread too and following your progress!! I think you have done a fantastic job in ensuring that they are not going to walk over the top of everyone and that people like yourself will stand and fight back. I hope they are ready for another one as I have no intention of letting this go, Do BH think we all have money to throw away? Most are struggling while these beggers are taking our money for mis sold policies, late payment fee's which I hear are illegal and then when we are bled dry they try and take back the equipment!!!!!!!! leaving us with nothing I think the courts need to hear about these guys and maybe even a few newspapers nationally. Huge thanks!!!
  7. Myself and the wife have been going through a tough patch financially which is taking a longer than expected to overcome. With our power suppliers putting up the prices, 4 kids to see too and myself being out of employment for a few months now its not ideal. Something had to give and unfortunately BH was one of them while we see to the essential bills. Big mistake as I have been hounded!! I am equally to blame for not notifying them sooner of my problems but you know what it is like....you try and scrape to make payments and fall way behind due to these charges. Anyway.....I got a visit from the guy who works in the store, he pulled up in a transit van and asked what the story was. I explained fully and told him I was due to create an expenditure document from which I would then be trying to pay something to everyone at least. He then went on to say that my white goods (washing machine & Fridge) would not be chased after from head office but I could hand back my TV as they would not allow us to keep it?!?!? Now, I fully understand that I may have to cut back but I have payed over £1300 towards the TV and not keen on just handing it back and losing all that. I asked him to leave it with me while I tried to reach a conclusion.... He then returned on Wednesday and asked us for £150 to catch up along with charges and advance payments. I told him that there was no way on earth I could pay that but would be willing to pop in and pay something...he said they needed the full amount or hand the TV back and reset the agreement...he said he was actually here to pick up to which I said no till I find out my legal standing and gather more information. I completed my income/expenditure and was beginning to put together a letter of offer of reduced payments for a few weeks then back to full after this with a little extra. He came to the door again today and said to my wife he was here to get the TV, my wife asked him if he had a warrant to enter the house and he said no but you can invite me...my wife replied that under no circumstances are you welcome in the house at this stage...He then proceeded to say that he wont be back but the police will be as we have there items......... I am utterly disgusted after being a customer who paid 100% for over 18 months and then get all this when I need them. I dont take kindly to be threated either and feel pressured to return an item I have paid a great deal of money for (More than it is selling for just now). I get the feeling they want it back so they can put it back out the door again at a big profit even though used!! Can I not make a reasonable arrangment to pay an affordable amount without being stripped of equipment I have paid a great deal too?? I am actually considering request that they take me to court so I can present our side of the story. To fall behind on a £35 payment and then find yourself in £145 of debt is not right and caused by the company Sorry for the rant...had to get it off my chest :-?
  8. With all due respect.... When you are misled into believing you need to take out additional policy's and trusting the words of those who are supposed to be helping you when clearly they are greedily picking your pocket to reach their targets....we have a major problem. In fact I would even describe it a serious misconduct The employee of BH provided me with all information which I now feel was misleading. They then stuck a pen in my hand to sign and initial and asked for a sum of cash on the spot (Might not call it a deposit but sure feels like one). I tell you one thing too You have a hard neck calling the customers greedy!! The attitude of those who work at this company is absolutely terrible!!
  9. Firstly I would like to say what a fantastic site and I am truly grateful that my web search brought me here today. I would also like to applaud Lefty for his fantastic work and support to those affected by the various issues in regards to BH. Your a god send!! Ok I took out an agreement with BH 18months ago and at the time was told I would need to take the OSC. I was told this was needed for the duration of the agreement or I would be responsible for all repairs along with keeping up weekly payments regardless. I was also told that the policy was fantastic value for money at only a few pounds per week and would guarantee my items would be repaired or replaced with no problem at all. 11 months ago I decided to add a TV to my weekly payments and picked one from the store window. They took the "deposit" and told me they would call with a delivery date...I never got a call and when I went in with the next payments I asked what was happening as I was paying for a TV I never had. I decided to Pick it up from the store myself and was disappointed when I got it home and discovered it was a used one(no one told me) Never less I kept it but just 3 weeks later it packed it, I called them and they said they would send someone to pick it up in a couple of days. On checking the handbook for the reason to the flashing light on the TV I discovered that the rear projector bulb had blown. On a google search I found out they cost in excess of £350 and only last a year or two depending on usage. I called them back up to notify them of the problem and costs associated and to request I swap to a TV that wont cost me so much on a regular basis. I was told not a problem and to go along and pick one....I rushed along and was hit with another big payment upfront and told I would lose all payments made to the other one. Not good at all...... We have been late with one payment as my wife didn't make it to the shop before closure on a Saturday. They were on the phone 9am Monday morning asking for full payment, Charges for three items and the next week in advance We were made to feel so small My friend decided to get the same TV as me and when enquiring about the policies offered he was told it was optional but after 1 year he would be responsible for all repairs and honouring the agreement regardless. He told them he was purchasing Home Insurance from his bank and they told him to still take the DLC as he it would cover his agreement and his bank would get him a new TV if claimed...strange My queries are this: Are BH responsible for repairing goods that develop a fault after the initial 12 months manufacturer cover? Should they not have informed me of this 12th month cover when selling me the OSC IF they are required to repair their goods after this period, Have they mis-sold me a policy that was not needed With the goods belonging to BH until you settle the agreement (?) is it not their responsibility to ensure they are in good working order during this period I am going to send the letters and have the OSC & DLC removed along with ensuring that any additional agreement includes all original rights and the term "new" as stated on the running agreement. I was also looking for your thoughts on claiming back all the money I have paid into this OSC. I feel I have not only been misled but robbed of the little money we have for a policy we did not need or want. Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks
  10. I am sorry but I have sat here for 3 hours reading most threads and the general direction of BH is to apparently demand full payment by the Saturday. Failure to do so will result in additional charges per item..... don't even get me started on the optional cover too....I have been well and truly done!!
